you can ban the players as a punishment but what about the owners?, daddy crook and his son?, they have tainted the country's image, they should be put on trail for that with heavy fines and jail time

I'm happy to see none of the upcoming rising superstars are among these 9 players, and hope to see a new owner for Dhaka team in next season.

I'm really relieved to see it's not any of our up and coming prospects. It's sad to see of course but the banning of these players will not hurt us that much, just our reputation. Mahbubul was not even in the national team picture for a while and MH Rubel was somewhat in the picture but then again we have tons of SLA's in our disposal. Sad to see that Rafique was involved. A lot of people here wanted him to be involved in coaching but he should stay away from cricket now.

All of them should be punished big and sent a message to all cricketers that there is heavy punishment for these kind of acts

I'm guessing a lot of these names fall in the wasn't-directly-involved-but-kept-their-mouth-shut category, in which case they should be punished too.

I think there was three different level of crime committed by the "accused 9" and some may have done mutiple of those.

Level One: Particiapted in the match fixing. Maximum penalty range.
Level Two: Lied to ACSU or tried to hide evidence. Moderate penalty range.
Level Tree: Knew about the fixing, but failed to notify to authority. Minimum penalty range.

Let's keep in mind that other than the self confessed Ash, the other names are all speculation and then also they have just been charged and not yet proven guilty of that charge. Until then, lets not be besmirching characters and be mindful of 'innocent until proven guilty'.

I can't believe that others don't fall within level 3 at least, especially among the coaching and support staff. But of course evidence is required to progress matters and I suspect these 9 are the only individuals they could get hard evidence on...

It's also worth asking ourselves why of all the BPL teams only Dhaka appear to have been fixing matches?! Is this plausible? If so why?
