well baisya is being allowed to attack, which at times leads to runs.
what he should be doing is stemming the flowing of runs.

fare enough chinaman you probably are right. but if you watched the last 10 overs with saqlain and inzy batting, you can see that if you bat sensibly then you can score runs.
anyways stats were shown on ten sports showing how many games it took each team to record their first win.
Australia 1
Pakistan 2
England 2
West indies 11
South africa 12
india 25
new zealand 40 odd
if bangladesh win they will go ahead of india and new zealand with 23.
well done bangladesh you have proved many doubters wrong.
Next destination WI.

Great post muddaser. Appreciate your fareness.
Balls were dangerously seaming in and away. Moreover, the Pakistani team is not as great as it used to be (Good for us). Something seems very missing from the team. I can smell changes in the captancy and coaching in near future.

i had seen this in the wee hours before heading out and didn't imagine we would actually take 5 more wickets after tea. it's best to postpone the euphoria until we actually complete the victory. we have one more wicket to go before we should feel really comfortable. With Inzi getting his 50 and still at the crease, and only a 100 odd runs to chase, this match isn't over yet.
As someone said, let's hope BD doesn't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and can go in for the kill.
ps way to go mashrafee for playing a part in this!!

sorry my mistake,
thought bangladesh next series was in the west indies (WI). But its england in bangladesh then BD go to Zimbabwe.
i reckon zimbabwe will be bangladesh's best chance of winning a test series. since the zimbabwe team is fairly ordinary at the moment with young players and no andy flower.

chinaman you said,
Something seems very missing from the team.
well there is no decent opening partnership. salman butt batted as though he had 5 overs to score all his runs. we'll never get someone like saeed anwar in a while. mohammed hafeez's doesnt seem suited for tests.
secondly pakistani players have never had the brains of past players but have more talent.
you definitely need more than talent to play in tests. its different in ODI's though.

I don't like this bullshit about Pakistani weakness/sudden lack of talent at all.
We earned what we've earned, fair and square.

at the end of the day it will still be reported the bangladesh beat pakistan. end of story.
but what im pointing out is that the opening partnership of pakistan is too weak.
no disrespect but if the openers struggled against bangladesh what is going to happen against the likes south africa.

didnt understand a word you just wrote.
what i meant was that the PAK batting had 2 days to make their runs. but batted as though it was a one day match.

Muddaser, check the run rate. Bangladesh second innings run rate is higher than your 2nd innings run rate. Salman butt scored those 37 runs only because he played his shots. Otherwise he might have stayed longer but would have scored less. Your captain stayed longer but scored 5. You did not complain when pakistan batsmen went for their shots in the 1st and 2nd tests. And you won't complain if Inzi goes for his shots and bring you victory. He went down the track a couple of times and succeeded in lifting Rafiq over his head for four --- and sure that made you very happy. But had he been out, you would have started complaining! The thing is that Bangladeshi bowlers are really bowling well and to a plan. Pakistani batsmen are finding it hard to score......and this usually brings in rash shots! It happens all the time in cricket. and most of the time the credit goes to the bowling side for their controlled display. Please give credit where it is due
