Smile Rubel unlikely for Super 10- Taskin may replace him

Quote:
Bangladesh received a severe blow ahead of the Super 10 phase of the ICC World Twenty20 2014 as paceman Rubel Hossain is unlikely to participate in the rest of the campaign after injuring the ring finger of his bowling arm during the game against Hong Kong.
Sources close to the team confirmed that the management is considering a replacement in pace bowler Taskin Ahmed after the youngster’s impressive performances recently in the practice matches against top level sides.

This would be a great news. He can't do any worse than Rubel. I can't believe someone said its a severe blow to lose Rubel in T20

Great news if it's true.

Taskin got taken all over the park against the warm up match against South Africa. Get a spinner like Taijul instead. Rubel, Taskin, Reza are not good enough for super10 stage, not even close.

Or even Arafat. Knowing Razzak's form and Gazi being injured (don't know if he is fit or not now), Arafat could be handy against WI and Australia.

Any boller even Steyn and Johnson will get tonked in a T20 if the captain decides to bowl him when the opposition has 5 batters in hand and needs only 20 runs to win with 4 overs to spare.

Why captain Kaedge bowled Hom and others when he should have bowled out Taskin, especially, opposition on their knees -one more wicket then and BD A could have won that match.

Need to pay attention to the match situation, too. Not just the stats. I have utmost trust in young Taskin. If fit, he might do better than Rubel, inshaallah.

I have been waiting for this time for so long. Hope he gets to play .Time to unleash the real tiger. Come on Taskin. Make us Proud. You can do it. You know you can. You have uprooted Dilshan's stump before. Time to uproot Gayle's stump this time...Roar my tiger

Seriously, why can't our captains judge the match situation and take decisions according to?

BCF is right on the money. Good captaincy could have won a lot more matches than we have lately.

Nicely put. Also Zia was selected as an alrounder yet did not given a single over only to find out in the next match Zia was an ideal option. The captain fantastic will probably take off Taskin right after he gets a wicket or not give him a single over saying Taskin is batting alrounder who can bowl a bit..

Exactly my words.

You just cant judge a good fast bowler in these flat pitches. Australia gele tokhon 3-4jon spinner kono kaje ashbena. We need to develop good fast bowlers for playing outside Bangladesh. This kind of exposures and to make him stay with the team will grow his confidence by miles. Emniteo amader fast bowling department er obostha bhoyonkor. Except from him, I don't see a good potential emerging. So basically he is the last hope of making our pace attack a bit formidable (assuming the days of Mash coming to an end).

Read my mind...spot on. However, moron selectors will never access the situation. A sla spinner shlould be an urgent inclusion for BD TEAM.

It is! For the opponent!! Now they won't be able to score a ton out of his 4 overs!!!

I never wish bad for other people. But for BD cricket sake, One of Razzak/Reza needs to get injured so we can include Taijul/Sunny/Zia somehow...

When we are at it, why don't we bring in Mukhtar Ali and Taijul as well. If you want to replace then do it fully. If there is rust here and there, cleaning or replacing one cog or wheel won't help.

Zia and Taijul should be better consideration. Screw pace bowling. 1 full time pacer is fine. Take out Razzak and put in Taijul. Take out Reza and put in Zia. Even with Mushfiq's captaincy, we should expect to lose all the super 10 games with whatever dignity we have left.
