Isam,
Love your great concise writing! I keep coming back to this thread looking for your "verdicts".
But after devouring down the verdicts, I am left wishing that there was a little more to read. Can't fault you for that - these are verdicts, not reports
Can you do us the favor of adding anecdotal observations, be it on the players, the spectators or even the ambience overall? And, thereby make these verdicts longer? Please? For me, being thousands of miles away from the stadium, your reports adds the flavor of almost being there.

Nope grind them as much as possible. No declaration. No mercy. Take losing out of the equation first. This is only a two test series. Margin of error gets smaller.

October 22: Day 2 of Test match
You must pardon the journalist here. The day of cricket ended at 11am so we decided to go around Ctg after work and hence the delay in my post here.
As you all know, the second day got hijacked by BCB's reluctance to fix a long drawn out problem.
Once the game was called off, I walked down from the press box and needed to cross to the other side and it was like i was crossing a really dirty patch of land. Parts of the ground smelled of old muck (those who've played football/cricket in a village field would know) which was strange given that this was in an international cricket venue.
The day was of finding a story to file and we came across some key figures of the Test including both Shahriar Nafees and Fidel Edwards. Half of Nafees looked like a man from China but he looked happy to be out of harms way. The man who struck him, Fidel, took the photo op and did the handshake. Fidel's voice is exactly like Michael Jackson and his Bajan drawl is out of this world (you can't understand most of it).
Having already talked to the curators (Babu and Gamini), we had a media brief with Munna bhai (BCB grounds chief) and he was just shot to bits by some of my colleagues. He blamed the NSC but the question of the day remained: Why doesn't the BCB do anything about it? There's no point waiting for a governmental organisation to do anything.
Rumor has it that the NSC's reluctance is simply a cheap political ploy: Lotus Kamal didn't invite Ahad Ali Sarkar to the prize-giving podium in any of the games and hence, the delay.
You don't have to believe me but that's the rumor doing the rounds these days.
Highlight of the day: BCB security guy asking our bus to take a detour through the village just so that we suffer a bit. But as journalists are, we endure it all.
J.O. of the day: BCB
Stat of the day: The ZACS uses 36 small covers and yet, the water kept leaking into the ground.

Bogra, Khulna cannot be considered for peculiarly Bangladesh reasons. Just like Cricket had to move from Bangabandhu.
ZACS is actually built on a swamp, so none of this should come as a surprise !!!!!

October 23: Day 3 of the 1st Test
It didn't seem like a day in a Test match but it was and the (Chittagong Club) lunch was served as well (as opposed to the one from Modina Restora on practice days).
And that was the only part of the Test match that stood as the rest just fell apart. I took another walk around the ground at 11am in the morning and truth be told, another bit of rain would be the end of the game. Thankfully, the forecast is quite good so it seems the rain will stay away.
Later Mushy and 6-7 others came to train and at the indoor nets, the man on 68 hammered another 32 runs!
Near the end of the day, Mr Kamal came and talked to the media (after 10 minutes of predictable nokhra). He was embarrassed but didn't blame NSC or anyone..not even himself..which was a bit of a joke.
Highlight of the day: Bright sunshine but no cricket.
J.O of the day: BCB
Stat of the day: 25 journalists were made to wait for 25 minutes around the edge of the stadium as one of the gates remained closed. They had to break the lock, Bangladeshi style.

It's a shame for us that our second best cricket ground & one of the worldcup venue's condition is so poor.

Oct 24: day 4 of first Test
Lovely day for Sunny and how much the sun has shone for Bangladesh.
I however believe that the declaration came 20-30 runs too late. Once Mushy got out, there was no point in batting in that manner.
Sunny had a blast and Shakib and Rubel bowled well.
highlight of the day: nafees swinging sunny around.
JO of the day: Nafees getting out.
Stat of the day: Sunny is fifth to take 4 wkts in test debut.

Great reports Mr Isam. I have one question though, what does "JO of the day" mean?

Oct 25: Fifth day of First Test
It was as positive an outcome that could be gained from a three-day Test but that's exactly why Bangladesh cricket is so exhilarating. Only Bangladesh could have done something like this; or conversely, this is what frustrates their fans. If in Mirpur they get a perfect setting, the challenge would be play their normal game and not get too excited.
Highlight of the day: Lotus Kamal wanting to take photographs of journalists (no really)
J.O. of the day: Bishoo; the best young leg-spinner wasn't anywhere near his best.
Stat of the day:This was Bangladesh's second declaration in two days (no really!)

My thoughts too. Our players should not get carried away with their 1st test performance. Most of the time, we are guilty of dropping our bars just after playing some good cricket.

October 29, Day 1 of 2nd Test (Bangladesh vs West Indies)
The Tigers looked slightly off; Elias Sunny issue is intriguing to say the least and it was mirrored in their body language during the first session.
They fought back but it was excruciating from the word go.
If the 2nd day doesn't see a good performance, it would mean that the Tigers give up easily after fighting back.
Highlight of the day: Brathwaite's forward press.
J.O. of the day: Shahadat. Mind is in NCC polls?
Stat of the day: This was the 20th century opening stand against Bangladesh

Yes Isam bhai please...because in another thread we got a news from banglanews24 which says that Law was furious because Sunny left for his home just one day before the match and hence he wasn't taken into the squad
