Default Ideal Starting XI

Although this will never happen, this should be our starting XI for the rest of the tourney..

Tamim
Shamsur
Anamul
Mominul
Shakib
Mushfiq
Ziaur
Riyad
Al Amin
Rubel (Mashrafee injured?)
Arafat

I would have Nasir in the team instead of Riyad (who can be a useful bowler occasionally) but Nasir needs to be taught a lesson that if you don't play seriously no selection. We need a bat heavy side since lower order and fast bowling is next to useless anyways.

No point talking about players (Zia, Arafat) who are not in the 15. So going forward in the super 10, this is the ideal team

Tamim
Anamul
Shamsur
Shakib
Mushy
Momin
Nasir
Riyad
Mash
Gazi
Al-Amin

I would go with the same team, except that Nasir deserved to be dropped. I would keep Sabbir in his place.

Mash-Amin-Shak-Riyad bowls full quota. Mominul, Nasir, Shabbir bowls the rest. still a better bowling attack than Raj and Reza in it

Ideal squad. Razzaq and Reza deserves to be dropped. If Mash is injured, I hope they replace him with Zia

Reza and Razzak have to be out with these terrible performances. So that means Gazi and Mash in for these 2 or drop Riyad down to 8 and have an extra batsman in.

In the batting lineup, I'd really think about whether Shabbir should be in or not. He looks like a good player but does he deserve to be in ahead of Shamsur and Mominul? We have to pick our best batsmen and both are more internationally proven and imo they both should be ahead of Shabbir.

agree about Shabbir. However, if you choose to drop both Rs and not have the out of form G in the team as a spinner... I think it would be good if you have someone that can bowl 1-2 overs.

some people still want Nasir as one of the finisher. you have to see his last 5 ODI innings in the asia cup, the LOI series against Lanka. The Lad is totally out of form. Dont gimmi this excuse he was batting with Al Amin. why did he take that single? did he not play it aerially few times before when there was lots of overs left batting with number 10? it's clear cut not rocket science the lad is totally out of form. I'd play Mominul instead of him.

This is would be my line up next match.

Tamim
Anamul
Shamsur/Mominul
Mushy
Shakib
Mominul/Shamsur
Shabbir
Riyad
Gazi
Mortaza
Al Amin

Yup and in that case Mominul would help. Shabbir is not a bad option in that regard but Mominul is the better option

My ideal XI in the following batting order,

Farhad Reza
Abdur Razzak
Shabbir Rahman
Mahmudallah
Shahriar Nafees
Ashraful (Public demand, unban and bring him back)
Mushfiqur (Captain, just for captaincy)
Dhiman Ghosh (WK)
Tushar Imran
Shafiul Islam
Rubel Hossain

12th Man (?): Shohag Gazi

That would be my team too.

Mushfiq also admitted in the post match conference Nasir is not timing the ball well. No point continuing with an out of form player.

This will be my team:

Tamim
Anamul (wk)
Shamsur
Shakib (Cap)
Mominul
Rahim
Shabbir
Zia
Riyad
Al Amin
Taskin

Note:
Mashrafee is too injury prone. The future is with Taskin
Riyad will be retained as a pure spinner before Gazi and/or someone else take that slot
Eventually Nasir can replace Zia/Shabbir/Shamsu in future
Momin and Sabbir would be used as 3rd/4th spinner in the team.
Sakib will be given captaincy
Anamul will be doing the wicket keeping

One mistake..missing a specialist spinner. Tajul/arafat or gazi

Shabbir is a must..he ll prove soon why he is the special one in this format. I want him in no 6 and add momin in no 3.
Mushi shld use shabbir as a bowler.
PS- More discussion is happening on Shabbir Rahman's Thread

Looks like the best team for T20 to me. Problem is how can we get in Zia and Taskin?

I light of the dew factor, I reckon it would be better fielding 3 seamers. Jia will be missed. If and when need be, a spinner and NOT Banglar Flintoff can replace Koushik. So, based on the players in the XV: -

1. Mrs. Benson (Bat & Huff-Puff): Unfit (dom, not bhuri) and suffering from self doubt, he's just one good knock away from giving us a string of high 30s. Then he'll run out of battery and throw his wicket away.

2. Kopa (Bat): I'm not sure how he'll cope with real pace on the tournament's sporting wickets, but worth a try.

3. Bijoy (Bat & WK): His preferred position.

4. Shourobh (Bat & PT Bowl): Won't do worse than Nasir.

5. Shakib (Bat & Bowl): Abar jigay.

6. HaBa 2.0 (Bat & Brain Freeze): Abar jigay.

7. Rumman (Bat & PT Bowl): Contrary to what we've seen so far, he *can* hit from the word go. But it is always better to get your eye in with some singles. A player like him quickly learns from experience and I'm sure he'd take less and less time to settle-in, especially in this format.

8. BhaBha (Bowl & ?): Won't be dropped. His bowling may come in handy.

9. Koushik (Bowl & Slog): Still our best new ball bowler. Can slog. Just don't bowl him at death.

10. Al-Amin (Bowl): Looks aren't everything.

11. Taskin (Bowl): Has aggression, pace and swings the ball in early. Persist with him.

*** *** ***

12: Gazi (Bowl & Slog): He can replace Koushik if and when necessary.

We need a specialist spinner. Also, shakib needs 2 come at no 4. Where is Hulk?

1 tamim
2 anamul
3 mominul
4 shakib
5 mushy
6 shamsur
7 shabbir
8 nasir
9 mash
10 gazi
11 al amin

maybe zia for al amin and he'd bat at 9 pushing the others down but that way we've got mash, gazi, al amin/zia to do most of the bowling and nasir, shabbir and mominul can do the rest. maybe riyad for mominul but bat riyad lower or if we want to stack the spinners play him instead of nasir.

Opening with Zia because Tamim hasn't looked all that great in T20s. Also, in the hope that we either get quick starts or lose a wicket quickly so that our better batsmen face majority of the deliveries. 9 bowling options, and a team that can bat deep too.
