Default T20 WC 2014 Thread: News & Updates

BanglaCricket Coverage::: Home | News | Bulletins | Schedule | Scorecards | Articles | Statistics ...

How is BCB planning/preparing for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 2014 Championship? We have about twelve months to go as it is going to start on April 1st, 2014!

I wonder if our selectors have any thoughts how our T20 squad would be? I hope they would select a 25 men squad as early as possible and groom them accordingly.

Hopefully, there would be no political speeches at the opening ceremony rather want to see a planned and organized event from BCB. Please plan ahead and have a good preparation. Good luck

Final - TBC v TBC (Reserve Day 7th April)
Shere Bangla National Stadium, MirpurN/AThe identities of A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1 and D2 were decided according to seedings and were in place before the group stage began. So India Was A2 and England A1 no matter what position they finished in as long as both qualified. Among other reasons, this helps travelling fans know at which venue their team will play in the Super Eights. Had Afghanistan beat both India and England and qualified first, they would have taken the identity of the team that did not make it from Group A: A2 if India had failed to qualify, and A1 had England been knocked out.

Don't get my started on those weird patterns on ties. Those are so old school now. Just a simple generic black slim/skinny tie or maybe a generic colour tie to match your overall suit (pink, light blue etc). Not those fat ones with weird patterns going criss cross and sideways or diagonals with weird designs and weird colour combinations.

Yuck.

ICC rejects Star’s objections on World T20 format

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rejected an objection from its broadcaster Fox Star Sports (FSS), the new incarnation of ESPN Star Sports, over the format of the World Twenty20 championship next year.

The tournament will be held in Bangladesh from March 16 to April 6 and FSS had concerns over the number of matches in the biennial ICC event.

The IDI board, the commercial wing of the ICC, recently prepared a confidential note over the tournament which clearly mentions the FSS's objection over the matches and also about Indian matches in the tournament.

^I wouldn't be so sure of that. Ireland's been a level above the others but the others have been competitive with each other. Afghanistans currently 6th in their group.

Good to see the unknowns putting up a good fight

afg is 6th but they have played one game less..i think Ireland and Afg is one tier above then the rest and when the tournament finises they'll have no problem qualifying..More games tend to favor the stronger teams

do you know about the 1st round grouping?, is it fixed yet..i mean i would like to assume which teams we will play probably
