Complacent or Over Confident?
There is this pattern that whenever we have a winning momentum, it disappears very soon after losing to some weak or associates nations. I don't know if our players become complacent or they become over confident. We need to have our feet at ground and carry on the momentum.
1. 2007 WC - After the historic win against India and then beating SA in 2nd round, we lose against Ireland
2. 2009 T20 WC - After coming close to beating India, we lose to IRE in the 2nd match. We had an easy group and beating IRE would have ensured 2nd round. But we messed up.
3. WI tour 2009 - After sweeping weak WI in Test and ODIs, we lose the T20 badly
4. Zim tour 2011 - We had high expectations. Zim haven't played test for years and yet we lose both the Test and ODI series
5. Europe Tour 2012 - After beating IRE 3-0 we lose to Scot and Netherland.
6. Carrib tour 2012 - After beating Barbados and AFG, and having T&T at 12/5, we lose the match.
I don't know what happens to the players and the team as a whole. Whenever we have a momentum, we lose to associates. I think we just become complacent and take the match against weak opposition lightly.
On the other hand, when stakes are very high, we somehow put up a great fight and win those matches.
Are we suffering from complacency or over-confidence?

Everyone thinks he will score a TON and win it for the team, or will rout the opposition in ten overs or so!

Neither...it's called playing down to our true level. Like all minnows we tend to raise our game against the big boys from time to time.
Think of us as a 16th seed when March Madness comes around...we can do it, but there is a reason we're crap and no one takes us seriously.

Is it?
You must be a Shak fan - making him a "GOD" now! The low par associate level team Bangladesh got the best all-rounder of the world!!

What bothers me is that we lose the easy matches. These matches should be a walk in the park if we just do the basics right. These are not G8 teams that needs extraordinary effort. Yet, we fail to execute the basics and lose those matches.
It brings the moral down and we get back to square one.

As we get over charged playing against top teams, the low ranked teams ( i would not call them minnow) also get charged up playing against us and there is a tendency among our players to take things very easy as if 'win' is written all over the place even before trying to get it. You may say, over confident or complacent but its all part of 'Unprofessional attitude'.

What is the difference between the two, really? They are like the cause and effect of each other.
