Zimbabwe Triangular Series (Aus, SA, Zim ODIs)
Zimbabwe's performance in last couple of matches (bowling mainly) has prompted me to open this thread. They have been giving the top 2 ODI teams good run for their money. SA and AUS have been restricted for 235 and 209 respectably in last two matches. Zimbabwe has always performed better in their home conditions than us. Let's see how they fare in chasing 209 today.

How come Zimbabwe dont field the best players against strong teams, and are not in good form. But when they take on Bangladesh they have a full strength side with all their guys in peak form.

I think their current coach thinks and works bit differently.

With the kind of experience that ZIM is getting here playing top ODI teams such as SA and AUS, it will do wonders to develop their players and cricket. They could perhaps with the experience be the best underdog team around. I feel sorry for WI and BD.

Well done Zimbabwe. Australia will be very disappointed with their performances in last two matches.

Very good result from Zimbabwe following up their impressive showing in the SA Test.
Hopefully we bring our A game against them.

Well done to Zimbabwe. Watched the game live and felt good for the players and the supporters. They deserved the win
You'd have to say that they'll be the favorite when they play against us. Our boys have to be very ready because right now their batting and bowling is ahead of ours

This just shows how low we have fallen. Losing to teams like Honk kong, Afghanistan, getting all out under 100, failing to get 10 wickets of the opposition, not learning anything. Our team's really worthless

It's mental, BD team has more talent but zim are stronger mentally and have more fight in them.

We're more talented and while I won't say we are mentally strong, we're mentally less weak. I say this because you cant just be mentally strong in the comfort of your own home and in that regard we have done better away from home. They do have way more fight, something we totally lack under Mushfiqs safety first leadership.
The upcoming series will be a humdinger because ZIM aren't the same pushover side they were from 2004-2010.

Question is, have we really fallen? Even during our run from the Asia Cup to the NZ series we were still a #10 Test team and #9 ODI team. Yes our players have gotten better as we can at least say now we have batsmen that average in the 30's but has it been enough to be better than the G8? It hasn't been enough.
Until BCB actually starts caring about our FC structure we will continue to languish at the bottom unfortunately

Excellent performance from Zimbabwe. But they are always strong at home. They stretched Pakistan also recently.
Different cup of tea in the sub continent though. I just hope our curators are not so generous. Every time we tour Zimbabwe they make wickets devoid of any spin, with a lot of bounce. This is why we always struggle there.
We should repeat the favor by making low bounce, slow turning wickets. Most of their guys have footwork issues, and i reckon our spinners can give them a lot of trouble.
My gut feel, Shakib will roar back in style. Hungrier than ever before. Watch out Zimbabwe

BCB has been pretty aggressive in its Test plan while ignoring the core issues of improving the NCL/BCL, producing good pitches, and developing fast bowlers (and spinners too). They have managed to schedule!e 64 matches over the next year, 46 of them against G8 sides. Also ensured that the next 12 matches vs ZIM are all played at home so we can pass them in the rankings. Thus its possible BCB might have the sense to actually give us home field advantage for once.

I am amazed how Zimb despite having all these issues still progress better than us. When Zimb will visit us it will be very interesting series and hope our players play better.

Zim player's contracts actually pay way more than ours do. When adjusted for inflation it comes to be almost the same. I guess our achievements are about the same. They've won 1 test, we've drawn 4. They have 5-6 ODI wins against top sides, we have ~20 or so plus a couple of series wins.
BCB has pretty serious issues too. Ignores domestic cricket, BPL mess, corruption, Shakib ban situation. One could argue were just as much of a clown organization.
