Default All FIFA World Cup Match Thread

I noticed that there was no match thread created yesterday. So lets talk about all the remaining matches here. Today we have Selengal vs Colombia and Japan vs Poland. Also we will have a high voltage match of Belgium vs England. This should be a fantastic game.

Poland has scored against Japan. It was a must win game for Japan to go to the next round

IIRC the fair play tie breaker is new for this world cup. Can someone explain what would be the tie breaker if this fairplay tiebreaker wasn't enacted? Because both teams had the same goal difference, goal scored, tied their h2h game, etc.

I feel for Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco and Iran. All of them tried really hard but couldn't finish it in the end. All of these teams played quite admirably. A+ for effort.

^ That will be the blockbuster quarter final! Brazil vs Belgium.

Also if Portugal beats Uruguay, and Argentina beats France ( a big IF), then Portugal vs Argentina will be another blockbuster quarter final.

Arg Por will certainly be a mouthwatering quarter final. I really want to see a Ronaldo Messi clash. That will be a match of a lifetime. Hope both Portugal and Argentina win and meet in qtr final

Argentina's route to the wc glory is the toughest one..they might need to beat France,Portugal,Brazil and Spain to win it.

Good thing is no one will expect them to win any so there will be less pressure on them and messi

Supporting Brazil. I was expecting Argentina to get knocked out from the group stage. It would've made me really happy. But, Sadly they somehow managed to crawl their way to the super 16. Hopefully they have used up all of their lucks and will be comprehensively beaten in the next round.

I think Brazil will lift it. No team can produce any competition against them except Belgium. Earlier I was hoping a Germany - Brazil - Belgium - England semi. Now that Germany is gone, we need to look for Spain or France to fill in the blank.

Lets see if France got the horsepower to even beat the crippled team Argentina.

Could have a Brazil vs Arg semi and BD might not survive the outcome of that match

Oh dear! If that match do take place, I see lot of banters, fighting, and suicides.

But from Football's perspective, that would be an epic match

Match about to start. This could very well be Messi's last match in the world cup. But he deserves to go further
