Default Jayawardene vs De Villiers

Who would you choose in a 20 over International match?

I would prefer the discussion be about test cricket.

Jaya a much better skipper though. So if you said you needed a captain then it gets interesting.

HHS. The criteria is International 20 over game. Not test, not ODIs.

2006-2014 55 55 8 1493 100 31.76 1121 133.18 1 9 4 173 33

2006-2014 57 54 9 1007 79* 22.37 804 125.24 0 5 4 82 30

Jaya > ABCD.
Every category with the exception of matches and not out. Hahahaha!!!! Ducks are same.

Interesting stats TE. I would like to know AB's stats last two years though. As you rightly said international t20 record is very surprising

There are very few cricketers from past, present OR FUTURE who can even dream about competing with AB.

I think I can explain this. Like all other South Africans, AB chokes in World Cups. In T-20, there are rare bilateral matches and hence most of these are from World T-20. On the other hand, SL excels at Global events. So ... if it's a World Cup match, then Jaya, otherwise AB.

AB is still mid career, mahela has finished his, AB may yet rectify his t20I record before career end.

He'll probably get one more T-20 WC. No doubt he can do wonders ...

AB mops the floor, although Jayawardene can play some clutch innings.

55 match (Jaya) vs 57 matches (ABCD).

May be doesn't cut it. May be our Sabbir would out stage both of them. May be Gowza would get a call to play NBA basketball.

Bunch of Blind people we have. Didn't even bother to look at the stats post. So...

Both players played almost the same amount of games. 55 Jaya - 57 AB De V.
Jaya scored 1,493 runs > AB De V scored 1,007
Jaya's Career Avg 31.76 > AB De V career Avg 22.37
Jaya's SR 133.18 > AB De V 125.24 I think bunch of BD players have better SR. If not, near future will have.

Shall I go on?

Comparing to Jaya - Can't score runs. Can't hit 4s. Can't hit 6s. Has 30% less average, Mediocre SR.

Argue with substance next time. Not just because "I said so!!"

I am not asking Jaya's best 2 years either. If 50+ games is not enough then I don't know. Mano vs Mano.

Someone has to do the dirty work so that a red carpet can be set for KING Jaya to walk on it.

Nice try but you got nothing. AB played more Bi-lateral games than Jaya. Thanks. One more feather I guess.
Jaya delivers > AB De V chokes.

Do you know all of these players SR? 125.24 is nothing SR if you are an elite T20 player. Agree?

When someone can't even match the useless player ON ANY CATEGORY, what does that make him?
