Great match. A captains knock by Dhoni to take them to the end!
Congrats to India, and well played to Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, someone has to lose.

i'm forced to admit they were the best team out there...won their knockouts in style barring the PAK semi.

South Africa did show up.... they paid dearly for one bad game....
However still India is the deserving champs...they beat three of the most dangerous teams en route to the Cup (Australia, Pakistan and Srilanka)

we should, and we will. We will be one of the favourites in 2015, no doubt but looking at our progress, i think in 2019 we will be the champions for sure

Big Congrats to India. Just watched with a lot of Indian friends. They are going bananas. The party has started already and I suspect it will continue for next twelve hours..

finally I get to witness a WC winning Indian team and don't have to depend on re-runs of 1983 any more. thank you MSD and boys not to forget God on earth.
awesome feeling, huge feast for family tomorrow, chaps going round and round on motorbikes with the tricolour in hand, I'm probably blabbering with excitement right now.

Congratulations. Very professional and clinical run chase. Tendulkar finally wins a WC, never seen him so excited about anything.

I really like how all the younger Indian players are saying , 'We did for Sachin'. Says a lot about how much he means to them.

Well, at least it was a good game, unlike the last 3 finals...
There are firecrackers going off around my neighborhood (here in South London)... a bit surprising 'cause I thought it was mostly Polish / Pakistanis / Sri Lankans around here.

Hats off to Sachin's career.
But I refuse to congratulate India. I dont think they were the best team, think they only won, because of other teams' poor performances.
The reason for my uncharacteristic lack of sportmanship??
