From Al Jazeera English

Quote:
In this episode of Head to Head, Mehdi Hasan challenges Gowher Rizvi, the International Affairs advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, on the state of the country’s democracy and whether it is heading towards authoritarianism.
Whether you like the answers or not, I appreciate that Rizvi showed the courage to face tough questions from an international media, which is not very common in Bangladesh.

Is that a variant of Kirchoff's Laws?

I am a huge fan of Mehdi Hasan. That guy is one of the best debaters in the 21st century. Not only that, He shows no mercy to anyone, especially Islamophobes...

Kudos to Al-Jazeera English and Mehdi Hasan for asking the right question. I wish to see a Bangladesh where our own journalist will be able to ask the same question without having to suffer the consequence of torture, jail time or worse.

That being said, it is also funny that the question was posed by a Qatar based network, a country where there is no democracy, no secular principle and worse human rights records. Also very certain that Mehdi Hasan will never be able to grill his Qatari masters like he grilled Dr Rizvi.

One might suggest that I used a straw man fallacy but it was not meant to defend Dr Rizvi but to prove that hypocrisy is prevalent everywhere.

^ As the saying goes - you can only have freedom of speech if you own a media. Otherwise there is no freedom of speech.

Al Jazera is funded by Qatar government. They constantly criticize governments everywhere, including the monarchies in all gulf countries, but God forbid, they never question the government of Qatar. It is no rocket science. Why do US mainstream media always favor centrist democrats, war, Reaganomics? Because they are funded by billionaires who want tax cuts and preserve status quo. Jarta khaben, gun to tar i gaben.

What is important is to understand and know your own bias. By nature, human beings are unable to rise above their biases. The problem is, media is often reluctant to admit their bias. But people know it anyway.

Nothing is impossible it's just close to 100% of ppl who are travelling aren't there to hijack a plane or cause problem. More reason why such invasive TSA probes/airport security are wrong and they can provide better travel experience.

I'm not sure how much the phone app experience is different but I've liked it so far. Is Firefox great on Android too?

Happy Women's day to everyone...

Here's hoping Humanity will triumph over archaic practices governed by religion and equal rights will be achieved someday.

Humanity (not atheism) dictates objective morality...
Religion(specially of Abrahamic origin) and humanity rarely go hand in hand.

Don't turn women's day into one of your anti religion talking points. To divert every damn discussion into an anti religion tangent is not productive but rather annoying to I believe majority of the users here. Find another platform for your issues please

Surprised u like "Iron maiden" (great choice btw) given war and religion are recurring themes in their lyrics.

Anyways on a serious note, out of respect for this platform I will not instigate any anti religious posts in future inshallah (now everyone say alhamdulillah).

Such a disrespectful troll . Ppl see this.

I also remember similar post of promise never to write about religion in this site . Lasted about a day.

So weak. But that's expected. This is what happens when parents fail to raise their kids properly.

Australian Senator claims that mass shooting in NZ mosque happened not because of gun laws or white supremacist views, but due to flawed immigration laws, which allowed considerable Muslim presence in Australia and NZ:
