Default LBW lines.

how about drawing three small lines in front of three stumps inorder to help the batsman to make correct stands and also helping umpire for LBW decisions?

the game is already batsmen-dominated...give the bowlers more leeway, i say...

I was thinking about that the other day. Just paint lines between the stumps up the pitch. It might look a little funny but then there would be less confusion about whether the ball pitched outside leg and the batsman wouldn't have to ask for middle either.

yeah James, i thought so too. How about a thick white strip in the center of the pitch wicket to wicket ? It will help the batsman to sight the ball good too, only thing is the game will be more batsman oriented and we will see lotsa batsmen standing their crease for a LBW decision. Guess will add more headache to the umpires.

Cheers !!

The ICC has already trialed lbw lines, and didnt like them very much, but they are investigating more technology and other ideas. For example, in the super series, umpires will be able to ask the 3rd umpires opinion on any decision, including lbws. I'm conducting research regarding these issues, and if you'd like to take part or find out more about these idea, please visit: http://www.datawise-systems.co.uk/survey Thanks for your time!
