Tab Preview is an extension for Firefox 1.5 or newer that shows a preview of tab contents when you move your mouse over a background tab. It's simple to use, but surprisingly useful.

Showcase provides a new way to manage your Firefox tabs and windows by showing them as thumbnails in a single window, tab or sidebar. Includes a find bar that will filter the thumbnails, and the capability to select the thumbnails in the same way you would select files in your system.

DownloadHelper - This helps you copy most kinds of media on a web page (I mostly use it for embedded Flash videos (.flv))
NoScript - This is my most useful add-on... but it can be quite annoying to certain people
FlashBlock - Also very useful... but can annoy some people
SwitchProxyTool - To switch proxy servers quickly... probably of little use to most people
GreaseMonkey - Something I use to screw with certain sites

sopcast plugin for your firefox 2.0(yes its possible). Note some site still prohibit the use of firefox to watch sopcast and there is just no way around it. ex: acricket.com.

No one mentioned Ad Blocker Plus yet?

Thats the one I find most useful, what it does is, it removes any ad on a webpage that you do not want to see.

I also find IE Tab very useful to read prothom alo and other bangla sites.

Download status bar is another very useful one even though it seems not so useful at first. Weather is another one.

Hyperwords allows you to highlight any words on the internet and perform various tasks with them.It turns every word into a hyperlink. When you double-click any word, Hyperwords pops up a menu of related items: searches, definitions, maps,translations and many more.The best part is about translation - you select a text and HyperWord will do inline translation meaning the actual text on the webpage will be replaced with the translate version.

Cooliris - Just mouse over any link, and the Cooliris preview window immediately appears to show you the web page content.

I used the FF Dictionary during my university days. It was really helpful.

Also using Download Status Bar, very neat and handy, and doesn't give you that annoying popup after every download.
