This is the first time I liked the squad 100%
I agreed with mash decision including Sabbir, because Arif amar **** felte silo when bd needed him .
Sabbir is handy in swing conditions and against pace bowlers. He's quick 30 or 40 runs will make the difference... It's cricketing knowledge from mash, not politics.

Like I said finally Nannu showing his n*** to select those 15 players...no free vacation for players
Kaye's
Shanto
Arif
Especially dhojo shafiul
Sabbir conclusion is valid, he will be hunger for success... Which we need .
Bangladesh now I can say, they will definitely bring their storm into the world cup.

WORLD CUP
1) No.7 going into the final tour before World Cup cannot be new talent, unproven talent.
2) performance in pressure situations against quality opponents over extended time
3) World Cup experience
4) best fielder and overall fitness
5) team chemistry/ earned stripes/ mutual respect among final 11
Problem with Sabbir was mostly drop in form. As with Soumya, you just let them get back in form and put them back in with World Cup in mind.
1) Domestic stats are not indicative of intl performance
2) too much time away from intl cricket drops overall performance
3) NZ helps no.7 get used to crunch time batting in WC situations in England
4) Dullah cannot be the designated hitter. He is best at middle anchor

Having said all that, we would still need a legitimate finisher after the World Cup. Like a Maxwell, Yuvraj or Afridi.
That guy... he hasn’t walked into the Bangladesh team yet.

In the Sabbir fiasco, everyone missed a big joke- Taskin is back in the Test team based on his BPL performances, and Ebadat is ignored despite being the best pacer last BCL

Can’t give him a shot with the World Cup in a few months. Since he got discovered in the pacer hunt, he has never gotten the chance to play top quality opposition. He was in the prep camp for 2016 NZ tour too.
This is someone you have to groom with a game or two in Dhaka.

The selection panel is a disgrace. They continue to leave out Mosaddek who once had a first class average approaching 70 (just a few months ago), because of failures in LOIs batting out of position.
Now ignoring Ebadat. Trying to be fair and even by screwing up our bowling and batting I guess.
More complete packages like Fazle Rabbi coming.
When do we get new selectors?

Well, lets see if he manages to get visa, such disciplinary records may work against him.

BPL should not be the yardstick to judge a players talent for Tests (or even ODIs) surely
I think the selectors placed too much importance on what Mashrafe wanted, they should have been firm and said no to Sabbir, the guy had one good innings in the whole tournament so far, its ridiculous to have his ban overturned.
Taskin being selected for Tests after his BPL performance is hilarious as well. I guess Steve Rhodes had a big part in this as he was saying in an interview recently that he was fond of big, faster bowlers who can hit the deck hard for overseas tour.

They left room for another pacer who will be the 15th team member leaving to NZ. My guess? It will be Rabbi

So whom did he replace in ODI, Soummya/Imrul?
I do not see any of the later doing anything significant in NZ condition, rather have someone who can field well, also can bat a bit in lower the order which is not either of their niche. I think he can spin a little that could be added advantage as Soummy's military medium is not essential in already pace heavy squad.

BCB/Mash did Imrul really dirty here by leaving him out and picking Sabbir instead lol
Also from the scorecards I've seen, Taskin has been getting slapped to all parts of the boundary. Where has he been impressive?

Imrul has had plenty of chances. He hasn’t exactly been splendid, except for that zim series. In a team of four openers, you don’t need the 4th opener. Truth is, Tamim will either open with Soumya or Liton. It was a bottle neck and something had to give

^^ This is an actual reason. Popularity is a real thing. Cricket relies on advertising dollars for its broadcasts.
Sabbir + Taskin = $$$
This is why you guys can’t make sense of it and this is why you should STOP using cricketing logic for business decisions.

Dont understand the controversy with Sabbir.
He is one of the best batsman in Bangladesh.
Does anyone remember the asian Games cup final (in China) where he single handedly won the match against Afghanistan (that was 2 years before his debut).
There is no one with such a cool head in Bangladesh line up.
BD needs him in the WC and the coming series is the ideal prep for the WC.

Thank God you didn't have to go back to his U19 days to remember a good innings

If this is the logic then why is Ashraful not in the team?
