Default How good is this Saqlin Sajib Guy??

So far what I can see from this years NLC the best bowler is Saqlian Sajib by a great distance. His stats are impressive.
Player Mat Overs Mdns Runs Wkts BBI BBM Ave Econ SR 5 10
Saqlain Sajib 2 80.5 23 205 22 7/29 13/113 9.31 2.53 22.0 3 1
(Rajshahi Division)
Out of 4 inns he got 3x5 wkts and in one inns 4 wkts. What does it tell us? We are getting another shakib on the way?? Hope he can improve day by bay.

He may not be the best SLA in their team even.

Regardless of how good he is, we don't need him to be in the team now.

What we really need is get rid of freebies from the team such as Roquibul and Junaed. So, we need batsmen not bowler.

Yeah he seems like a good spinner, I watched him bowl too - we've just got too many like him at the moment. I agree with Tokai, we are in desperate need of batsmen other than Raqibul and Zunaid.

Wow!!! Another 7 wicket haul against Dhaka?

So now he has 7, 6 (SY); 5, 4 (CH); 7 (DH) wkts in five innings!! Is he that good?

fixed.

I saw him bowling in the DPL for Mohamadan. Didn't see him as a wicket taking threat. May be the format change has helped him.

So he did great in NCL last year. Its amazing the best performing domestic players are overlooked so much while more poor players continue playing in national team

check the stats of Suhrawardi Shuvo and you will find they have almost similar stats. Saqlain has slightly better stats in FC while Suhrawardi slighly better in List A's.

so saqlain is almost similar to suhrawardi i feel

How about older players who have been proving themselves for years. I read this interesting article http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig...php?nid=184825 the other day and remembered how Md Rafique said Mosharraf Hossain will be his successor. Unfortunately he joined ICL when he had the chance to cement his place in the national side. Good to see he is performing well in the domestic front. In fact even in ICL he did a fairly decent job bowling in tandem with his mentor Rafique. Clearly he had the maturity in him which Shuvo, Enamul Jnr and any new spinner will have. The guy can bat also. So it would be interesting to see him bowl along with Shakib and Razzak.

Exactly.
I don't think he has anything exceptional to replace any of our current SLAs in shorter formats. But for Test, we need to think beyond nine yards. We need some leg/SLA/offie to support Shak.

Ok so if Shuvo can play international cricket then why cant Saqlain? Its worth giving him a chance in the future. Then we can see who does better at the highest level. Some players do perform better than others in internationals with similar domestic stats. You never know

Mosharraf hossain was really a good prospect and I can see he hasn't lost it all yet. But considering his age now I doubt BCB will give him a chance in the national fold.

Very well explained.Yes Saqlain and Suhrawardy looks have same type of stats.More importantly Saqlain has better FC stat.I think selectors are also thinking about him aswell. He has got some List A matches for A team but his performance was not that good.It seems to me he is better in longer version. If he can do good for A team in FC matches then why not think forward about him.Any way my SLA talent list for Longer Version:1.Shakib 2.Suhrawardy 3.Saqlain 4.Mosharrof Rubel 5.Enam Jn
6.Elias Sunny. No Razzak.Plus point for Suhrawardy,Rubel and Sunny as they can bat.
