I would say observe this ODI series. Anything less than a series win, terminate Mushfeekur and Chandika's contracts. Need a fresh start.

I remember lots of fans here making fun of Faruque when he tried fight the change in the selection process, not to give more power to Hathuru. IMO, before that we had a good balance between the selectors and Hathuru, though it was creating lots of conflicts. BCB messed up big time, there is no way back for them to regain the balance. Sooner than later, they will have to fire Hathuru and start all over with a new coach. It will be a big hiccup before the next WC, but it's looking unavoidable atp.

An ODI series win in south Africa against South Africa with your beloved Mushfiqur Rahim in this team .

I think this is too harsh of a standard. I am expecting one win. one win is all i ask.

Papon is usually very cautious in decision making, rarely does anything drastic. Doing badly in the ODI will lead to questions, but termination of the coach at least unlikely.

If we want the coach gone, i think we will need SLC to come to the rescue. They are still looking for a full time coach.

I can write it down.... like it or not... Haturu daa is going to stay for now.

I am not 100% sure, but is almost sure Rahim will lose his captaincy. As Papon said, one negative aspect triggers another negative reaction in Rahim's mind. Most likely if he lose the captaincy (along with the fact he already lost WK job), he will be further aloof and most likely impact his batting. Its a bad situation, because regardless how bad a captain he is, we need his experienced batting.

পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা কি একটু বেশিই করেছেন হাথুরু!

Hathuru currently is the fourth highest paid cricket coach in the world, after Shastri (India), Lehmann (Aus), and Bayliss (Eng). BCB pay him $340K/yearly. Keep in mind, he is on vacation almost every other month. So, BCB paying him this much for six months of work!

On the other hand, even Zim cricketers are now paid higher by their board than how BCB pay ours! Our top four cricketers are paid ($60K yearly) less than bottom category contracted players of Ind, Eng, Aus, SA, and WI.

On a positive note, if BCB can spend so much on Hathurusingha, might as well add a bit more and try getting Trevor Bayliss after 2019. Tom Moody would also be fabulous-if anyone can convince him to take up a long term assignment. Andy Flower also free.

I am pretty sure with the new revenue model, BCB will pay even more to the coaches since paying players isnt their priority

Tom Moody would be a good choice if we can get him

how about we get this for our coaching staff

Heath Streak=Bowling and Head Coach
Andy Flower= Batting Coach

I think if Streak is offered a head position, he might be tempted with that significant raise

Streak wont come, at least not in the near future. His country called him back and he responded. I am sure he wants to take Zim to at least the knockouts in WC'19. He might even succeed. We made a big mistake by letting him go in the first place.

Andy Flower is a possibility. If we can throw in that money and give him full autonomy like we give to Chandika now, it could be possible.

Tom Moody would be another great choice.

So it could be an Andy Flower and Tom Moody combination.

But that still leave a good bowling coach vaccum.

Zimbabweans in general make excellent coaches. Streak, Flower Brothers, Dave Houghton, Duncan Fletcher.

If someone like Andy Flower is available, we should take grab the opportunity. Will be good for our batting. Plus i hear he is a real stickler for details, very tough, meticulous. I feel our players need that type of a coach than a diplomat.

We have approached Andy Flower before right after his role in England ended. But he was very expensive and we could not afford him back then.

He was paid close to 40K USD per month.

I think thats a figure BD should be able to afford now.

How times have changed though. Dav Whatmore joined with an annual salary of under 100K USD.

^^ If we agree to pay him only for the time he works plus one month vacation per year, he will still cost much less than Hathuru.

Bypassing all protocols, Papon reached out to Hathuru himself, and at an advanced stage of negotiation to bring Hathuru back.

As if the way he left last time wasn't bad enough. Do they want a round two with this guy? lol

Him coming back could also mean the end of Riad and Mushfiq (especially him with his current form - however, I would trust him more than any other morons like Anamul, Shanto, or Yasir in the team to score runs - from what he has done in the past).

If rumors to believed, Papon, out of his desperation, doing a poor job negotiating with Hathuru. Hathuru has been out of job for last three years, his reputation ruined after the mess he made out of Lanka team. He should be hired for less, if not for the same salary he got last time. But he's pressing Papon for a much higher salary to return.

Some of the predictions seem very likely to me:

- Shakib-Hathuru clash will resume
- Shakib will retire from at least one format in next one year
- Momin and Mushfiq will be targeted again by Hathuru
- Riyad won't make the cut for ODI WC'23
- There will a new captain (if not more) in one of the formats

Hope Hathrua enjoys the same success with the team when they were operating like they were the Arsenal Invincible even though losing to Associate teams and playing like headless chickens.

Hathura I felt got the basics right and kept these egos in check. Our society does not promote professionalism in general and the cricket team also captures this ethos.

Our players need to be on a short leash tbh.
