I think weather is a main factor for fasting.

Despite Bangladesh having shorter hours of fasting compared to the UK, it’s currently more difficult fasting due to the weather.

In UK Allhamdullilah, the weather has been good so far.

^Agree, it is about 12+ hours but humidity and heat can dire down even the healthiest individuals.

For sure, humidity is also not pleasant when fasting.

Alot of people in the UK moan about the long hours, but I would take longer hours if the weather is good and cool and low humidity

Reminder: If Allah accepts your fast, at the time of breaking of your fast, Allah will also accept your du'a. my dear beloved people: you know exactly what to do and read in between the lines

.

one more thing. repeat the Du'a... consistently nag/cry/BEG to Allah... Allah subhani wa ta'la LOVES it when his servant begs him for something REPEATEDLY. show some passion/desperation. we have waited far too long...

one more reminder with all due respect: make sure your income and Food is Halal. Don't let your income and food become a barrier between you and your du'a being accepted. just sayin in general...

There are five days left of Ramadan.

Islam highly emphasizes on finishing strong. No matter how your Ramadan has been so far, even if you have messed up, finish strong and do your utmost in the remaining days, inShaAllah Allah will forgive you.

This Ramadan so far is a rev for me, I was able to participate in iftar at different places mostly in local mosques. But the BD restaurant like allwhere else disappoint me here. After attending an invite I was impressed by their iftar package. So I drove there last Wednesday and ordered a package to go along with additional order of halim, moglai parata and chicken wing. Unfortunately after coming home I found that they skipped the fruit basket completely from the package. The other things like bora, beguni were only 1 piece each but earlier in the party they were 2 pieces. Also other items inside the box were put in thrifty amount. Such a bitter experience from only BD place in Cambridge.

That happens with any deshi restaurants regardless of ethnic back ground.

Pakistani: ordered 2 normal naan and got 1 disgusting sweet naan.

Nepali: Ordered Vinadaloo and didnt get any aloo.

Best is to call them asap and tell them and they sort it out.

Few tips is never order a curry before 7 as they give yesterdays food and never order from a curry house where the white people rave about it.

Once I tried a Bangladeshi one located near Wimbledon and I ordered naan. They forgot the naan and said they will cover it next time and I said were they sure there will be a next time. I asked to send the naan over but make sure its after iftaar time and convenient for the driver as I saw the driver was old. Poor chap came back after 30 minutes as he probably got the naan from a local restaurant. The food was rubbish and never went again.

However for the Pakistani and Nepali one I still order from them as their food was good.

Tonight may be Lailatul Qadr. Please pray for the hungry, needy, the oppressed. To Him we belong to Him we will return.

was at Epsom mosque last night/early morning. I enjoyed the dua as it was in two languages Arabic and English. The ones I normally go to do Urdu even though Imam’s are Bangladeshi.

There was a great atmosphere. They also had a good number of Sisters who attended too.

Ramadan prating prayer (partial):

O Allah! Forgive our sins and ungratefulness, and protect us from the evil consequences of our sins, and let our hearts never feel safe from the consequences of our actions and from Your punishment, for no one feels safe from Your punishment, except the losers.

O Allah! You have promised in Your Book that You will not punish us as long as we seek forgiveness, and therefore allow us to never cease seeking Your forgiveness.

O Allah! Soften our hearts, and protect our hearts from ever losing the sweetness of faith, for verily in this world, there are no calamities greater than hardening of the heart and losing the sweetness of faith.

O Allah! Make us a better person in private than we are in public, and make us better than what people think of us, and rectify our private affairs.

O Allah! It is You who decree and no one decrees against You. Decree for us aafiyah (absence of all harm both in this world and the next), allow us to worship You with equal passion both at times of ease and at times of difficulty, and bless us with steadfastness on this beautiful religion.

O Allah! Forgive our sins of heart, and cleanse our hearts from arrogance, hypocrisy, showing off, jealousy, resentment, and negative thoughts about You or Your Decree.

O Allah! Make us appreciate the blessings of time and health before they are taken away from us, and allow us to use these blessings to become the most productive Muslim we can ever be, and help us attain our worldly and spiritual goals.

O Allah! Forgive our shortcomings about how we have treated our parents. Protect our parents, forgive their sins, bless them with a long good capable life full of obedience, and reciprocate them with nothing but the highest level of paradise for all that they have done for us.
