aklemalp, here is your answer

There are seven instances in Test cricket. Batsmen involved are

Russel Endean of South Africa against England in 1957
Andrew Hlditch of Australia against Pakistan in 1979
Mohsin Khan of Pakistan against Australia in 1982
Desmon Haynes against India in 1983
Graham Gooch against Australia 1993
Steve Waugh against India 2001
Michael Vaughan against India 2001.

New question -

Who is the only Bangladeshi player to play Test cricket before the independence?

Anyways, how many ODI opening batsman partners has Tamim had since his debut? Better if you can name all of them

Thank you Miraz for reviving this thread, and for answering the question that I have posted.

I remember the Vaughan incident. The summer before Graeme Smith entered the scene (and the record books with those double centuries).

He never played with his brother Nafis Iqbal. Your list is accurate I think

He also opened with Riyad against WI for a T20 match and we lost that match despite having both Tamim and Riyad not out

Not even close. 19 is not even half of the actual number.
