I have been following this story of Intern strike for some time now as i'ts the headline of the daily star and was wondering how the response would be and I think this is the wrong response.
What kind of doctors these interns will be I don't know. People don't have respect for doctors anymore because they are graduating kids with **** moral codes. Abandoning their work - fighting a wrong battle in a wrong way in my opinion.
It all started after 4 interns who beat up a patient's relative were suspended and interns throughout the country decided to go on strike.
They should have declared anyone who doesn't show up work would be relieved of their internship. This would have been the right response while try to put in measures for better safety at hospitals.
You chose a career in dealing with people and part of your job is to learn how to appropriately deal with people. Abandoning work and fighting for a wrong cause and unfortunately govt succumbing to that demand in my opinion does not bode well for our future.
there should be laws criminalizing abandoning work if you are an essential/critical employee. For example, fire department can't go on strike when there is a fire and say if you don't raise our salary we are not putting out that fire. The alt is JAIL time. You can choose other ways to ask for a raise.
