Whose bright idea was it to send Pilot in to open? Since when is he an opening batsman? How the hell does one expect him to last against the new ball? If he was a pincher, thats one thing, but we have just sacrificed someone who would have been good for about 20-25 runs down the order!!

Dav really did miss a trick in this ODI series. He should have carried on with the Test openers, Hannan and Golla. Instead he sent Golla home and now we have tried Bashar, Ashraful, Hannan and now Pilot, and we aren't any closer to the answer! Actually, this is making things worse!

Its nice to be able to just bat without having to worry about the required runrate! I just want to see us batting out the 50 overs.

just checked in, good that we won the toss. but 24/1 after 10 - did we already lose the match???

not only did whatmore miss a trick, so did selectors. they announced the 3 changes to the test side even BEFORE the team arrived in Pak. What mismanagement and "ultra-smart" decision making. Hopefully no one will still post "we need to experiment until we find an opening pair that works". That's bull. We HAD an opening pair. We HAVE opening batsmen, but they are all at HOME.

Bangladesh 52 for 2 after 16 overs! Not a great start but if we can keep wickets in hand, we can still post a decent total.

to play on the backfoot, misses and ball hit the pads, in front of
off stump, huge appeal for lbw, Tiffin finger goes up

May be u guys watching live on Tv know better but by Cricinfo commentary, it seems that hannan was hit on pads in front of off stump which means it's OUT. Bowl pitched outside off stump and swung in which means he is OUT. Can't see anything wrong with the decision but pple watching live would know better.

not watching on tv so have no idea about the lbw - commentary sounds ok. we need to play out sami's second spell but without slowing to a crawl - 230/240 is going to be very hard unless they start hitting people like junaid zia out of the ground.

Watching Bashar bat in and ODI is too frustrating for words! Why doesn't he take any singles for God's sake? Since he is not going to score too many boundaries, what is the damn point of blocking everything. A little nudge here and there can easilly get him some runs. He scores at a quicker rate in Test Matches!! Pathetic.

A team should double their 30 over score by the 50th over if they have wickets in hand. We have 8 wickets in hand. If we manage to double our 30 over score, we will set Pakistan 217, which won't really be enough.

that must have been some throw! bashar should have gone on to past 50. well, hopefully they will pick up the run rate here, but because of that rule of thumb I was hoping they would have got to 120 byt 30 overs. they have scored 24-39-45 in the first 10-20-30 overs. I know they are trying to hang on to wickets, but that won't be good enough unless they go on the attack - 7 wickets left, they need to do that.

LBW to Hafeez. How often do we see this with our batsmen? Both set batsmen getting out within a few deliveries. After all that getting set, just when we needed desperately to pick up the runrate, we now have two new batsmen at the crease. Anyway, Rajin deserved a 50, it wasn't to be I guess.

Kapali out. So we may not even last 50 overs, let alone score a competitve total. And they have done nothing to move the run rate. In fact the last 10 overs we scored only 38. I don't think they will even cross 200. So much for winning the toss - this team needs to return to training camp to figure out how to play. Watching them take 3-4 singles for another 10 overs is too painful, later.

guys at the end did well to play catch up. sujon's brief innings for once fit the script perfectly. if only bashar/rajin had pressed the pedal a tad, 240+ would have been very competitive. let's hope for the best!

I liked the game today so far. Finally looked like, the BD batsmen understood how to play ODI.

Throughout the whole innings, I never felt worried, great game plan and execution. 250 would have been perfect, but 222 will just have to do.

Only 2 things I didnt like, Pilot to open and Masri coming so late. When you have 5 wickets in hand and 5 overs to go, why save Masri!!! Could have reached the 250.

Now lets see how good has BD bowling really improved. The batsmen did their job and gave the bowlers a defendable score. Pakistan will be eager to take advantage of the 15 over fielding restriction, hit early and make the job easy for the later batting. BD needs to take 2 early wickets to gain control.

I am hoping for a super Masri today.
