Mashrafe only bowled 1 over, Rasel didn't play so don't worry.

I'm really disappointed. If the bowlers had taken a few wickets and made the match more competitive it'd be acceptable. Losing a practise match may not matter much, but it does affect the players' confidence nonetheless. We really need a full-strength bowling side to beat or at least compete with the SL team otherwise all the batting efforts will just go in vein.

It looks like we acted as true Bangladeshi. When we beat AUS we went through the roof in praise of our team. Now they lost pretty bad and we want their blood (some one went ahead and said " It is pleasing for me to see that Mashrafee got injured .."). Well, if we cant wish well then we should not wish bad.

I am pretty sure if we can beat SL these same people will praise our team. As a supporter we should be with our team through the thick and the thins. We should be constructive in analyses and try to encourage or sympathise if some one is hurt.

Shame on us!

Yo i agree with zia, good on you mate, has everyone bloody forgotten we are a young and inexperienced side. People are talking about crap bowlers, need i remind people of nazmul hossain the 17 year old blowing hayden's stump out of the ground in england. This doesnt mean he is great but has potential. We have to back our team not shoot them down, we're not in a position to criticse and condemn because we never have been at the top. When we consistently start winning then we can criticise individual performances, etc. Needless to say our bowling attack has not much to admire, but we will learn. Some people should be true fans and be optimistic of the beginning of our series in SL instead of gunning the team down straight away. Someone earlier pointed out SL XI managed a draw with SAfrica, so we werent playing fools, and also didnt have a full squad out.
recognise.

COME ON BANGLADESH

Gunawardane and Tharanga suffers to score against international attacks. But against our Mashrafee-less full strength attack, they scored centuries and built an unbeaten 239 runs partnership.

This should be enough to prove how low class our bowling is (without mashrafee).

Take a look at the Srilankan Squads and the individual stats of their players. You will find how much potential those young players like Samarawera, Farveez, Herath, Wijekoon and Kalavatigoda possess inside. It would be tough battle ahead. Keep your finger's crossed tigers' fans.

To me bowling of Herath and Samarawera, batting of Mahela and Dilshan and fielding of Arnold will be some of the challenges we are to face.

Are the tigresses with the tigers in SL?

I never hoped for great things from this tour.

This tour is going to be a disaster for us if Srilanka plays upto their full potential. Only if they don't play well and we play our best, then something good may come from this tour. But that "if" is a really big "if".

I am generally uncomfortable when our team makes confident noises in public. Because IMHO our players are not yet professional enough and can not yet harness their confidence effectively. They tend to get carried away. We are still at a phase where we are most comfortable and effective playing as rank under-dogs with very little expectations i.e. with our backs against the wall. To be honest, I am happy we got such a heavy drubbing in a nothing (yet important in terms of mental preparation) match. One thing is now for sure, our boys will come out on the 31st of August ready to prove a point, and devoid of any delusions of grandeur.

Forget about trying to bowl Sri Lanka out in the ODIs. Just hope that our batsmen make in excess of 300 runs to make the matches competitive enough. Even Australia struggles when they play in Sri Lanka!! So take my advice and don't be too hopeful about winning...you will be very disappointed.

We get thumped all the time, why are we making such a big fuss. This is not half as bad as what sussex did to us. England had a 10 and 9 wicket wins vs us. Remember the second match vs Australia when Abir and Ash scored half centurys and eveyybody else scored some like 5.

The boys got 3 days to figure things out, Ashraful and Bashar did ok . Rafique and Pilot were magnificent and Javed omar only faced 58 deliveries this time.

But you know whose fault this is? Them Smart people @ BCB who thought Andy Roberts wouldn't help us.

I'm so glad that finally our team got the embarrassing loss out of it's system early in the tour. No more winning the practice matches and tanking in the real ones. Look out Sri Lanka.:P

Was there any game plan for this match? Or BD took this game lightly ? After Mashrafee who else can save us ? What is wrong with Rafiq? Why he could not take any wickets either?

Lousy day for BD..Embarassing too

Really, I mean really, why do they keep on playing Khaled Mahmud Sujon?

Reminds me of the 80's and early 90's when Janhangir Shah Badshah kept on being selected despite his advancing years.

238 is not a very bad score but not even a single wicket taken, and the match lost in under 37 overs -- hard to fathom.

That doesn't even make sense.

Oh okay, we just have to score 300 runs against the number 2 ODI side, I thought for a second it was going to be something difficult.

Please read the last topic on this article and somehow let Bashar know there were days when people continued playing unless the ships were leaving the shores.

So he can take the test matches to day five and the save the question of second-tier and all the fuzz from Dalmia and company.
