Century eludes aggressive Tamim again

Once again, Tamim Iqbal showed off his full repertoire of exhilarating strokes but couldn't make a really substantial score

While Tamim Iqbal was taking apart the West Indies attack in Mirpur, Shivnarine Chanderpaul walked up to him. "He asked me whether I was playing a Twenty20," Tamim said. "I replied that I'm just hitting what the bowlers are bowling but I can't bat like you."
And that's why he's one of the best Test batsmen of this era while you're still a sore loser who can't make a hundred. What an Abul.

I'm not going to blame Tamim for being aggressive. That's his game. He's been successful like that, and he will be. You guys wanna join the bandwagon with those 2 morons on the commentary box, go ahead. (Seriously, what's with them? Can they be little less biased and at least PRETEND to be neutral??).

Yes, he got out playing a bad shot. But that was more credit to Sammy, then Tamim. We all know for if anyone regrets playing that shot the most is Tamim. And knowing Tamim, he will come out better in the next inning and try to correct it. Unlike some other players, with that 30 odd runs, he's done for the season.

Talking about done for the season, on the other hand, WTF was Nafees doing? Playing shots after shots after shots? How many times have we seen people in this forum quote Gautum Ghambir saying "I don't try to match Sehwag at the other end"... These guys would learn more about cricket if they visited BC every now and then.

One thing JS did good was make sure no one tries to follow Tamim. Imrul was very good at that.

Asif the man rahman, asif the man rahman, what is art? Nay but the geryon you say? but isn't art something that ought to be viewed over and over again? isn't mirpur 72 pr 70 or whatever of tamim deserves many a few glances?

why then assume i slept over the match when it is the sheer craving of fours and two Nareen sixes that draws me to drool over the match pixels, o my duke of Edinbrough tell me?!?!

Tamim should just listen to what Chandu said and take whatever good from it ....I am not telling him to follow word to word...he is adult and should have class enough to improve the areas...experience really matters sometimes especially a word from Chander...it would have helped him if he listened from a man who knows how to play test cricket...aggresion is good but what is his response giving away his wicket ...Chander has over 10000 test cricket runs and close to Sober results and Tamim is no where never to him to shut his mouth...and he ended up losing his hundred.

That would have been all good if he had at least made a hundred.

Should Tamim manage to score 100 runs in the next innings he will average 40 in test match cricket again

70+ is like a hundred for us. Players like JS, SN, Nazim would do milad and double qurbani and feed everyone in their village if they can score 50+

I'm all for Tamim keeping his aggressive style even in Test cricket. Tamim trying to graft would not work with him. he's a natural aggressive batsman. What he needs to do is improve his shot selection. That's his main problem. Take Sehwag for example, not a popular name right now but look at how many centuries he has maintaining that aggressive style. It's because he plays deleveries to it's merit. I think Tamim has improved in this regard but as we saw yesterday, he still has some work to do.

You cant criticize his game every time he comes short. He's not gonna score 100 every time he comes out to bat.
----------

@ Tamim, a better comeback would've been, "Obviously not, or else you wouldn't be here."

Hahahaha, good one. But that would be a bit too harsh to a person like Chanders, he is too humble and soft-spoken to be told something like that!

I tried my best to control myself from cursing Tamim yesterday. But suddenly I'm just feeling like hit him hard and tell him what a fool he made out of himself by giving up that easy hundred. You don't get a chance to score a test hundred everyday

Only if he didn't play that shot.... it was very awkward shot too... He should have pulled out. Just an over before, he miscued another shot, which fell in no mans land...should have been careful after that...
