One of the best ODI innings by a Bangladeshi batsman.

That's well said, Miraz bhai.
He used to be a consistent batsman for A-team and the domestic teams.Thats when I became a fan of him. But when he came to National team, he became an allrounder out of no where. He hardly bowled before coming to the national team. Our crappy team management and the selectors are just wasting his talent as a batsman. They should take away the allrounder tag from him and play him just a specialist batsman who can bowl a bit.
They should let him bat at 5/6.

Just finished watching the replay on ESPN 360. that interview Naeem gave was probably the best I have ever seen by a Bangladeshi player. He knew the whole time that we would win and he never stop believing. Shakib is making a great influence on these guys.

naved ami tumar post bhalo kore porse. tumar oi threader title chilo "Naeem Islam is the most faltuest player i've ever seen in my life". and now today you wrote this "this nayeem dude got some talent". so you are saying in your eyes in a matter of months you went from the most faltuest player you have ever seen to some talent. that's flip floping ok. you don't just randomly get talented in matter of months from faltuest.
and about his past mistake, he said, "I had learned from a past mistake. There was one occasion when I had sacrificed strike while batting with the last man and we lost the game. Everyone told me that I could have won that match if I had ensured strike. So I was consciously trying to take as much strike as possible". he's saying in the past he didn't keep the strike when playing with a number 11 batsman and his team ended up losing the game, so this time around he learned from this mistake.
but according to you in the thread you opened you said this, "na nitea pare single, na marte pare 4/6...............he is such a stupid player that he let nazmul to hit 4/6 for him.......he got no feet movement at all" now you tell me where do you see nayeem saying i learn to hit 4/6, and i learned to take singles, and i improved my feet movement??
naved i wasn't trying to attack you or anything, i'm just pointing out we fans tend to jump on the gun a bit way to early. today he's got talent, few days ago he was the most faltuest player ever. i used to be like that too. if you read some of my first posts in BC you will know how silly i was too.

bhai let me tell u a short story......our school is well known for basketball........so like every 10 students, 8 of them are good in playing basketball......also good in making 3 point shoot..........so for a week we had like 1 week of 3 point shoot competetion......one paki dude signed in......and he's barely like 5'4......he got knocked out on moneday/tuesday/wednesday/thursday......however, he won the 3 point shoot competetion on friday......he barely knows how to play basketball.....and now, students call him as a shooter boy.......in naeem's case, the reason i called him as a faltuest player because he didn't even try to win the match for bd......if u were on the crease, and u got nazmul as ur batting partner......u got only one wicket left......30 runs needed......what u gonna do? letting nazmul in strike? no way, u r going to be on strike...because only u can win the match for us.........second, the reason i stated tht he is talented, because now he knows what to do according to match situation...a true learner is called as real talent.......if u can observe his all batting highlights..u r going to find couple of facts:
1: no feet movement
2: can't find gaps for singles/fours that often
also in bowling case, he has to improve a lot
compare my two post........the early naaem and this naeem.......
now watch both batting highlights of naeem
1:faltuest
2:not faltu at all
"so you are saying in your eyes in a matter of months you went from the most faltuest player you have ever seen to some talent. that's flip floping ok. you don't just randomly get talented in matter of months from faltuest"
suppose apni ekjon actor, hothat kore shooting spot e ekdin ekta gaan gailen......director bolla bah tomar gola to bhari shundor......chalaia jao, u started to practice singing.....in couple of months fans are calling u talented actor theke talented singer........we really don't know what our hidden talent is. kothai ase practice makes perfect.......practice korte korte na hidden talent ber hoye ashe

I would agree to this, but this thread is made for us to celebrate this awesome innings played by naeem. An innings like this is a rarity among our batsmen, nothing is wrong in celebrating it with all of our hearts. Cmon bro, how many times do we get to see such a well though out and confident innings like this from our batsmen... But you are right, we shouldnt expect too much from him yet, but lets just celebrate this while we can

sure i will celebrate cause it was a good innings.. but i wouldnt call him "the one and only Tiger Nayeem" or smth of that sort and see him fail in the next match.. i would rather celebrate very very happily if he can perform like this for the next 5 matches.. then i wont mind calling him that..

Nayeem Islam
I am out of words to express the feeling what he has done. For so many years, oppositions have been taking away the wins we deserve, this boy has reversed that, Hope this is the beginning of a new era of snatching victory from opposition.

Thank you Naeem for playing the most wonderful finishing role a BD player has ever played! Thank you for proving me wrong, as I was giving up on you! Wish you and Riyad all the best for the future!
P.S. I think its about time for Ash to give his throne up until he finds true form Players who are capable of playing good consistently need to be promoted up the order. Then again our next few matches will b with Ind and Sl as far as i recall, so I guess we should not tinker with the batting line up just yet.

Had to put some words for Naeem as ZIM fans are not interested to use words for other than Zimbabwe players.

It should never have come to this. We should not be rescued by heroics of a 7th order batsman. This game was epitome of what is wrong with our team. To cite few,
1) Top order wobbled again on a batting track. No real openers.
2) Too many run outs that is a symptom of lack understanding or possibly selfishness. It happened in WI tour also.
3) Inexplicable decisions by skipper at the death over. For example, giving ball to Mahmudullah when Razzak (the in-form and most experienced bowler) had a over left.
4) Lack of pace attack that will bite us against better players of spin and outside the sub-continent
5) Our excessive reliance on SLAs who do not have great variations (Chinaman). This is specially true for Enamul. At least Razzak has arm ball and Sakib has accuracy. Even these two need to develop balls that turns the other way.
