He is not technically adept at smothering the early morning swing. He is literally a night watchman at the top of the order who is there to wait till the ball loses its shine

My opinion is that yes it was a mistake to prep Sabbir for the number 3 spot then drop him down th order for a couple of games then bring him back up. It's totally unnecessary and ruins the settled and prepared state of the team. Whether Sabbir is a fail at 3 or not, imo that is not entirely clear yet.

I certainly have a lot of hope for youngsters like liton and shanto though, so if Sabbir doesn't workout at 3 then I hope one of these two are tried (preferably liton given the stage of career these two players are at).

you cant experiment in a semi-final. I really dont want to see Sabbir at three today.

Sabbir at 3 isn't experimenting...he was prepped for that position...experimenting would be placing someone else at 3 for the semi.

Exactly, Need to back him for today and finals if we are there. Don't change the batting lineup time and time again, we can't be changing that lineup middle of the tournament, let the CT finish and then we can try something if he doesn't work out.

I am with coach on this one. You don't change someone's position mid tournament and unsettle the entire batting order.

Really this is your no. 3 bat?

Swings at every delivery and charges without any care? What a rubbish decision. We deserve to lose for all these pathetic strategic decisions

He was looking good, aside from I think it was his 2nd ball he was solid in defence, but it was a poor choice of shot that got him out, has to learn to capitalise on these starts.

You could see from Kohli's reaction that they value the wicket of Sabbir a lot.

Anyway Sabbir doesn't look ready as far as temperament yet to bat top 3.

I think it's been established beyond reasonable doubt the experiment has failed. We need someone more reliable even if it means a much lower SR. After playing 43 innings Sabbir is quickly approaching Ashraful territory. It's hurting both the team and the player himself.

Going into this tournament without a proper number has ruined the teams prospects. Management need to be held responsible.

Ashraful territory?

Ashraful would have scored a few centuries here there.

Sabbir averages 26 in modern era. Ash had 22/23 in the past when wickets were more bowler friendly and we were minnows

He is below Ashraful's level at no. 3

To be fair, Umar Akmal had better raw talent than Kohli when he started his ODI career.

He should bat in this position for the next 200 matches.

He is Aftab level in his best days at best and Aftab even does have few innings to talk about. He did not do anything to even tie the laces of Ashraful.

Anyways, Shabbir is a fine talent, plays good looking shots, got power, finds the gap with ease but severe temperament issues though, I honestly don't think he should be wasted lower down the order as a big hitter, he is a natural stroke maker, you need these kinda bat at the top.

today he was playing very well, but like seniors few dot balls and there you go just throwing away wicket this things should be advised and tackle by coach, don't know what coach tells them. Few dots here and there mean nothing but our boys just go red mad !!

Bro I don't think few dot balls should be the reasons why he played that pathetic shot to get out. It's the mindset, ultra poor common sense. At that stage RR was good, when you're not getting few away, you tick along and get to the other end. The way he was batting as if BD were chasing 360! Playing like T20. What is this madness with him at 3? What's the coach really trying to do with him? He does not have the safe and controlling feel about him at all at 3. You can play shots, but does it have to be like gungho? No.

Sabbir in my eyes is no doubt a top 5 material, but top 5 atm is congested, number 6 is available for him. He is a t20 specialist after all. Nowhere, ever should he be at 3. Maybe 4-5 in future (when he learns how to play according to situation).

If bd wants to do well against big teams number 3 needs to be given to a cool matured batsman. I dont find anyone except Riad.may be s nafees but we didn't handle him well. Shabbir should bat 5 or 6 atm.
