Tamim is likely to miss this series as well, opportunities for Liton-Naim to cement their places.

Should one from Mahedi and Nasum be benched for Biplob?

Who makes way for Mushfiq?

This second string Kiwi team is much more stronger than the Aussie team that just played in Bangladesh.

As per bdcrictime, only Mithun is getting axed from the squad for last series. Besides Mushfiq and Liton, Kamrul Islam Rabbi (2nd highest wicket taker of DPL T20, 2nd to Saifuddin) and Shohidul Islam will be added for NZ series.

So tamim will walk into the worldcup team without any significant performance in T20 or playing any matches. Very nice lol

Mithun got axed as predicted, but no luck for Kamrul or Shohidul. Players added to the squad are Mushfiq, Liton, and Aminul.

We are probably gonna go with the same type of pitch in an effort to win the series. This will definitely not help our WC preparation. We won't know the actual quality of our spinners or whether we can consistently put up/chase 170-180 scores. All the batsman will be short on runs and confidence going into the world cup.

^^ ditto - let's win the series (assuming we can) with the same pitch strategy and assuming Kiwis are as bad as the Aussie with spinning balls (probably incorrect assumption). BUT if we really want to prepare ourselves for the WC, let's create flat track for at least 2 of the 5 matches.

Ok, this is a bit ridiculous. I get that they want to win the series but wtf ... What is the point of inflating their ego by winning these matches ... This is not preparing them for the world cup

It's clear that BCB don't care about WC prep. They're prolly rather concerned that we ranked behind Afghanistan in T20I and have to play the qualifying round this year. Getting those easy points means, most likely, we won't have to play qualifying rounds in Australia next year. BCB will miss out on the tournament revenue if the team does not make the main round. So, you know, money talks...

You are absolutely spot on.

And, we seemed to have learnt from India - become home bullies to improve rankings.

^^ well then you lost

winning is preparing us for the World Cup. If we win the series 5-0 we will be ranked #5 I think which is a big boost in confidence.
