Every time a foreign player withdraws from BPL I get more excited. As it will open doors for more local players.

thats a negative attitude

why do we bring in foreign players? to make the tournament quality so more fans watch and which means money for everyone! And in the process, we get an oppurtunity to see our local players live, get money and ofcourse learn to play against top players..thats the purpose of these premiere leagues

What about DPL T20 matches? They never had much interest

Agree. BPL needs foreign quality players which is not necessarily a no name Pak.

Stop calling me negative. And What do you mean by DPL T-20. When was the last time DPL T-20 was played.

More local players playing is positive in my book.

And stop acting like playmaker as you will not be with us for long.

And to add to that, we fans need to understand that this entire thing is a cycle of events.

There are several groups:

1) Cricket board
2) Franchise owners who themselves own companies
3) Fans
4) Cricketers.

No what is the purpose of BPL? Its supposed to be a tournament that attracts the interest of a wide group of people. Now the fans are the base, they are the one who want to watch some QUALITY T20 cricket. Now cricket board uses this lust to create a franchise based tournament with oppurtunities to companies to open a team. These franchises arrange the players. Now the fans money are filling the pockets of the others, and of-course, the cricketers. But if the fans dont watch then who will? Boycotts' grandmother? They want to watch some quality T20 players like hodge, gayle, mahmood....not no name pakistanis. The presence of such quality players will attract fans, and fans = money. Now if the quality was rubbish, not many would bother to watch the matches. And that means the tournament will be more like a normal t20 tournament like NCLT2O,PCL.....The locals players wont get to play in front of millions, against top players and ofcourse the struggle to improve themselves because they know a lot of money at stake

those who do not understand these dont know the value of such domestic leagues. Some of us(including myself) delusional Bd fans need to understand that we are a country with tons of mediocre players. Our best opener cannot even hit a single six despite getting so many full tosses! Our bowlers death bowling is beyond horrible. Nasir may be good in longer versions, but in T20s he lacks the ability to play big shots. Ziaur, the so called pollard of BD, slogs with his eyes closed and fields worse than lala unlike pollard who is an exceptional fielder and a batsman who can even hit the ball out of the ground without timing the ball and against decent bowlers not trundlers you find in our domestic circle.

Sometimes, the problem is in our mentality. We bangalis let our emotions do the talking, our comments are illogical. No wonder we bangladeshis are so poor in making strategies. 40 years ago dubai was basically a port city with most trade workers living there, now look at the transition.

Bro I too want to watch more local players in action. i would love to see guys like mominul and mushfiq play more and more. i felt pathetic that last year nazmul hossain barely got chance.

but the issue is we need to come down to Earth and accept the harsh reality, and that is that we still lack the quality of domestic players. And who is playmaker btw and the relation with me not being here so long?

What the **** *** ****** ### ** is this fb pages ????? !!!!!!
They have a lot of followers....so,their posts r always very important to promote any news or make anyone hero/zero like Ananto jalil etc.
But most of the time they give status only for 'Like' .....this have many bad effect on our society.
Being very angry i m commenting here after seeing a status-
''three step-sons of Bangladesh Cricket all time:
1.Ashraful
2.Nazmul
3.Aftab ''
i agree that no.2 is ok but what is this ?????? !!!? Why is no.1/no.3 ???? Dhuuuurrrrrrr hurrrrr !
They always post about ashraful like this.....so that, many people think that ashraful is in from but ignored and then they blame/abuse our selectors.
How funnyyyy

For some reason, I'm excited by this whole BPL saga and the BCB-PCB war. Let's see if we can man up and get the tournament rolling!

Money is nothing unless it is spent well. BCB account is owned by BCB and piling up treasury will
not help fearing to pay a lot to a high-profile coach. BCB needs to assess what would be the best
investment while choosing an individual. They have to create target(vision), do some SWAT analysis and determine the milestones with a detailed time-line to reach the goal.

What can be the goal?
- Making domestic cricket really competitive
- Keeping a modest pipe-line of specialist players
- Winning a Test series
- or can be as ambitious as winning some future WC

Will they reach the goal? Nobody can tell as future is always uncertain. But ensuring the optimized use of resources available (in case pile of money) BCB can achieve their day-to-day targets more or less. Even with maximum utilization you may not reach the goal but you will get as close as possible which give you enough satisfaction rather than remaining depressed and complaining about luck, ICC and external factors.

For instance, if we want to win a test series in 2014, what aspects of our game needs ultimate care. They need to classify every such goal in minuscule detail and then put it in the job description while putting it into career board so when a specialist coach chooses to apply he knows exactly what would be his prime duties. Before the interview, gathering his cricketing wisdom he can come up with the strategy that will be needed to help BCB and the team to reach that/those.

Also wanted to add that such attempt will not suffice if it deviates from ICC schedule. So, while planning and putting it into detail to prospective candidates they need to remain shrewd to contain the reality factor, otherwise if the goal is too vague or seems unrealistic to achieve with current context (the whole cricketing domain of BD relative to other top countries), it will scare away any sensible bloke to apply.

He gave an interview where he was quoted as saying that laziness got the better of him. Check the CTG thread under BPL forum.

Because he is the laziest sportsman ever to walk on the Earth and everyone acknowledges that.

Da Da afnar form shokal ano man! BD needs a player of your calibre to hit top-form in T20 definately could do with you. You are the only Bangladeshi to score T20 hundred so far.

January 18, 2020: The Bangladesh board has rejected India's request for a one-off Test later this month because it wants to rest its players before the marquee series against New Zealand in February.
The BCCI said it was "disappointed" by the cancellation but hoped the tour could be rescheduled whenever the BCB found it convenient.

"Our players are all playing in the Dhaka leagues, so they have a good grasp of the local conditions," said a BCCI spokesperson. "So when the tour does take place, Bangladesh can expect a tough fight. We won't roll over easily this time."

I hope this happens
