Default What Should Be Our Batting Order?

I feel our batting order is all messed up. Wrong people in the wrong position. Our No.3 is an inexperienced player like Mominul fgs. Mushy should bat down the order like he did in the Asia cup. Riyad's SR is not up to mark for a no.7 batsman. Zia is a waste of space in no. 8. So this would be my preferred batting order:

1.Tamim
2.Shamsur/Jahurul
3.Ashraful
4.Riyad
5.Shakib
6.Nasir
7.Mushy
8.Razzak
9.Zia
10.Robiul
11.Shafiul

If Gazi plays he should bat ahead of Razzak and Zia.
What is your opinion?

Maybe, but we can't have that kind of mindset. Might as well give up playing cricket if that's the case.

you still need to tweak with this batting order? what about the role of bowlers? aren't they accountable on your scale?

Nope not in this case. The pitch is a belter. The first match was won by the bowlers and in the second match they took it to the 48th over. Our batsmen need to put up 280-300 on this pitch.

I would play shamsur instead of Mominul and push Ashraful down. And perhaps play razzak ahead of zia in the order

To be honest Ash got too much slacks in this series starting from the late SL series due to his 193. I think it's time to cut him off the team so he come back again in some future series to play eid inning. I would take Nafis at this stage cause he actually scores lot more freely than Ash or gets out. And obviously Mominul needs to be dropped from ODI....not his format.

So my line up:
Tamim
Shamsur
Nafis
Shak
Mushy
Nasir
Riyadh
Gazi
Razzak
Zia
Shafiul

I also would drop Robiul for Gazi in Bulawayo pitch condition. He can at least stop the run fest on these belters better than medium pacers and he's a better batsman. I would utilize Zia as the opening bowler with Shafiul with the potential of getting some runs (like 12) from him at #10.

Looks like they're grooming mominul for the #3 spot, perhaps thinking he's the long term option for that spot in tests...still reckon shuvagata is worth some thought in ODIs.

We are becoming four wickets down before reaching 100. This used to be an old problem which we got rid of in the asia cup by having Nasir Hossain at number 4 setting up the innings while mushy was doing the finisher's job.

1.Tamim
2.Shamsur
3.Ashraful
4.Nasir
5.Shakib
6.Ryad
7.Mushy
8.Gazi
9.Razzak
10.Zia
11.Robiul

My team:
  1. Tamim
  2. Shamsur
  3. Mominul
  4. Shakib
  5. Mushy+
  6. Riyad
  7. Nasir
  8. Razzak
  9. Gazi
  10. Shafiul
  11. Robiul
Ash is not good for his eid inning in the ODI anymore. ZIM had some trouble with spin. So, I'll bring Gazi back, despite Zia's 1st ODI heroics.

Razzak is already in the team... so are you suggesting we play with 10 players?

Even if will fill the top order with Bradman, the umpiring has to be correct to win the 3rd game. The biased commentry, television coverage and umpiring reminds me of the 90s when we used to have host country umpires.

shamsur for jahurul, keep mominul at #3 for this series then we'll know for sure whether he should be in ODIs atm or not.

Shakib
Nasir
Riyad
Ziaur
Gazi
Shafiul
Robiul

Razzak can get us to good starts. I think it will work out perfectly. Groom Razzak into a top order batsmen lol.

Ash(partnership wise, they are not doing too bad. And most of Ash's out lately has been to bad decisions - I don't know why, but way too many bad decision was awarded against Ash).
#3-5 : mushy, shakib and shamsul, with whoever more comfortable where. order does not matter much. They need to take more responsibility
#6 nasir
#7 riyad
#8-11 bowlers, who cares about the order

mominul ke out koren that's fine, he is strugling.

Kintu Ashraful-ke Up-down aar koto korben....tau jodi bujtam kane dhore oke up-down korachen.... ei up-down korte korte tou team-er obosha kahil.

Before we start doing more up-down to Ashraful, management (as well as fans) need to take a pause and decide, "What is Ashraful's role in the team?'

What is Ashraful's role in the team?
  1. He certainly has a role in the T20 team.
  2. He probably has a role in the test team.
  3. He does not have a role in the ODI team.
Clear?

What do people mean by role? He is an opener ffs. He is meant to score runs.
