I still cant believe Mash didnt give a set date to retire. He is just ruining his reputation and set for a disgraceful exit. He wont be captain after the zim series, I hope he declares himself that the Zim match will be his last match.
Get out with some dignity Mash, dont delay and tarnish your renown career

I understand that Mash wants to keep playing and he really doesnt care about his reputation. But at this point, he wouldve been better off retiring from international cricket and continue to play DPL and BPL as long as he wishes. He couldve also stayed with the national team in an advisor position seeing how rest of our seniors are not leadership materials.

Mash should play zim series and retire. I see no purpose in him staying and hanging around. Good on BCB to state that he is not going to be a captain after this series and he needs to PERFORM to get into the team as a player. The next world cup is in 3 years 3 months and we need to start planning now. It is quite evident that Mashrafe isn't playing the next world cup. Riad might not make it either.

Basically this guy is living by the motto: desperate time needs desperate measures, don't care if my country suffers for that

wasn't this series his retirement series? That's the vibe I got at the begining of the series ...

I reckon Mash will call it quits and shock everyone end of the final ODI in Sylhet. It's a shame he couldn't play his last ODI ever in Mirpur 'Home of Cricket'

Why do I feel he will keep on playing for a bit longer? I mean next we have Pakistan series I don't mind him retiring then. But this series is where he should retire but I seriously doubt that he will retire without much celebrations

I think he wants one final match in Dhaka ... hence staying as a player. Not sure why he thinks there is more he can contribute as a player. As a mentor perhaps, but his time will be used up by MP work, rather then cricket related work

I don't understand that logic either. This is a common phenomenon in the desi players mentality. Doesn't know when to call it a quit and will keep on taking up a spot for no reason. You know you are not going to represent BD in WC 2023, just call it a day, let a youngster take your spot and go on with the MP job.

He should have carried on as captain at least until sakib was back. But BCB kinda forced him to give up the captaincy. I am not sure who will replace him as captain as I don’t see any one from the current team as a potential leader.

Mash has a luxurious exit excuse most players don't: My constituents need me more. I am surprised he hasn't leveraged it yet.
