What was strange was that the ball was not overpitched, as overpitching by spinners is what results in massive 6's generally.
Most players playing Gayle's shot to a short pitched spinned ball wouldnt have cleared the ropes , let alone go 112 m !

It was a back of a length pitch. Usually batsman just pull it or push it for runs, but he just screamed it over the bowlers head. Like you said ^ as if it was a overpitched. And it turned out to be the longest 6!!
