Most wickets fell in a day was 27. Can we beat it today?

but the commentary does not show a no-ball, and even if its a noball, it should be shown 3.1, and agaian the next ball 3.1 will be shown again.

the commentator for that exact delivery needs to correct before we proceed

3.2 Akram to Belim, no run, DROPPED!! Straight into the hands of 2nd slip, and straight out of it. Akram clearly not happy with the fielder. "This ain't quidditch, and you ain't catching the golden snitch." -- you can hear him fuming on the stump mike.

3.3 Akram to Belim, no run. that was there to hit, over pitched on the pads, asking to be flicked through square leg, but surprisingly Belim defends it,straight back to the bowler

3.4 Akram to Belim, no run. DROPPED!! You have got to be kidding me. And as one would guess, the second slip is again the culprit. The ball bitched short, Belim trying to back away nicked it which the slip fumbled to shame. Talk of slipping. Strange game, this cricket. Would easily have been 42/5.

3.6 Akram to Belim, no run, wrapped on the pads, huge shout for an lbw by the bowler and the slips. The umpire raises his finger alright, but it is the other finger, aimed at the other side. The fielding captain asks for a review, and the umpire raises his finger again.
End of 4 overs.

4.1 al-Hasan to Gillespie. SIX! Whoa, a skier off the backfoot to mid-on for an over boundary, where Akhtar almost trips over the fence to crowd trying to catch it. Gillespie's second six, as the great-grandson of a Kamilaroi warrior moves on to 12.

4.2 al-Hasan to Gillespie, OUT Bowled Him!!! where has that come from? That drifted, dipped, gripped and spun viciously from outside leg stump to flick the off bail, and Gillespie departs 188 short of a Double Ton. Shades of Shane Warne's ball of the century - not quite in the same league, obviously, but Shakib has undone the batsman in a similar way with massive turn.

J Gillespie B S Al-Hasan 12 (8b 0x4 2x6) SR: 150.00

Mystery XI needs to steady the ship and in comes Geoffrey Boycott. or hang on !!! is it he himself or his Grand Mother ???

Sagar Alam From Bangladesh tells us "Warne who ??? shakib has reproduced the ball he bowled to dismiss Ian Bell at Old Trafford in June 2010"

Mystery XI: 48/4

Easily the best post in this thread ^^^. Should be 4.2 though.

Fielders converging in like a vulture with two slips, with silly midon and mid offs, silly point and short leg.

4.3 al-Hasan to Boycott, no run. Shakib gives a bit of flight as the ball lands fuller. Boycott tempted to have a go but leaves it wisely, at the last minute.

4.4 Al-Hasan to Boycott, no run. another dor ball, loopy and flighty, slightly overpitched, on the off stump and takes a sharp away turn. boycott on the front foot, waits for the turn, and just as he sees the ball starting to turn, leaves the ball.

Bizzare scenes here, some of the crowd have run into the pitch and running towards Sir Geoff Boycott, they are hugging him, they are asking for his autograph. Hang on, on of my fellow commentators have identified the intruders. looks like one them is Rajin Saleh and another one is ROCKibull Hasan, both ar Bangladeshi cricketers. we can also see Akash Chopra, Wajahatullah Wasti, Thilan samaraweera in that group. anyway intruders have left the field, game can resume now.

Margaret Boycott Elizabeth Gough aka Mrs. Hilda Boycott from Yorkshire, "nice to see my grandson playing again, he is the only player in the world better than me"

4.5 Al-Hasan to Boycott, 6. Another loopy flighted delivery. The batsman waited and waited, and then a wild slog. The ball turns and catches the faint outside edge, and goes over the third man boundary for six.

Confirmation from the speed gun, the delivery was at 70 km/h. And the six distance? 99.9 metres.

4.6 Al-Hasan to Boycott, no run. What drama!! An arm bowl this time, the batsman goes for the front foot defense but misses it altogether. The ball beats the bat and the pad and goes on to hit the middle stumps. He's bowled him!! But wait!! The bells aren't dislodged, as if they've been welded with the stumps. Different expressions on the field. The fielding side looks as if they've seen a ghost in broad daylight.

Huge discussion going around in the commentary box. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan is explaining something about I'm guessing is force, mass and acceleration. Athar Ali Khan is suggesting there might also be relativity involved in it, and Russel Arnold is quickly going through his class X science text book.
End of 5 overs.

its time for Curtly Ambrose ... ....

6.1 Ambrose to Belim, OUT, Hit wicket, Ambrose on the mark straight away, good length ball and rising up, Belim was surprised by the bounce & pace and jumps up and somehow fends the ball chest high but loses his balance and falls over the sumps, all three stumps are uprooted.

mystery XI 54/5

And that's lunch. Only 6 overs have been managed in the first session, thanks to the massive earthquake during the beginning. The ground staff is using a giant roller to level out the field, which is slightly tilted towards one end. The players have left for lunch. Time for me to also grab some fries, and some burgers, and some wraps, and some steaks, and some curries. See you in 40 minutes.
Lunch, Day 1
