Looks like we will be sending our HP Team/A-team to Pakistan next year -

Pakistan to host Emerging Asia Cup in 2018
Quote:
“The ACC has graciously decided to give us the hosting of Emerging Asia Cup in April next year which is a good sign for Pakistan,” said Najam sethi, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman.

ACC expects India to send their team for the event.

Sources within the ACC told Wisden India that India is set to be the host of next year’s Asia Cup and there are no demands from Pakistan to shift the biannual event.

Following players will be under 23, ie eligible for next Emerging Cup:

Shadman
Saif
Shanto
Mosaddek
Yasir Ali
Zakir
Miraz
Saifuddin
Afif
Nihaduzzaman
Jubair
Rony
Fizz (it will be ridiculous to see him in an Emerging Cup, but he is eligible)

On top of that, we can add four over 23 players with international experience. Given no overlapping international tour next April, this will be a good opportunity to measure our youth against our Asian neighbors.

Touring Australia in August - I guess we will be playing on drop-in pitches at Darwin again. After the humiliation in SA, I won't complain that we won't get to play on Sydney or other famous Australian grounds.

I won't complain as long they come to visit us sometime next year. I hope Papon will be able to work it out.

Not much going on during March-April-May... the time of the year where we dont get rain. BCB needs to use this time and get a home tour going

I expect us to do well till July, as we play teams ranked below us.. apart from matches against India. I would be happy if we pull off even 1 win against them.

But, the Australia tour will be a disaster just as the SA tour or even worse. They will be hunting us like dogs after we beat them at home and the humiliation they received in their media. On the other hand, it will be a litmus test for the team and management as to if they actually learnt and rectified mistakes from the SA tour. I dare say, I am not much hopeful.

Is the Asia Cup an ODI or T20 tournament?

^^ ODI. Originally supposed to take place in June, but BCCI want to organize it outside the rainy season in Sep-Oct.

Sensible.

But if - as most predict - India refuses to send a team to the Emerging AC - PCB will first ask ACC to move the tournament from India citing security for their team, and then when that doesn't happen will boycott the tournament. PAK fans - who now believe their 6th ranked side is the best ever in the history of the universe - will thump their chests.

So we're probably going to see 2 new sides for the main event. UAE and Nepal would be my guess along with Afghanistan. If we fail to make the finals it will be shameful.

Pakistan will come around, would do a little dramabazi though before obliging, Asia cup always brings a healthy revenue to all the participants, they can't afford to lose that. I would love to see Afghanistan and Nepal this time along with the usual 4, I hope no UAE, bunch of Desis wearing Arab colors don't represent Arabs, it is cringeworthy not to have ethnic Arabs in a cricket team from UAE, hell even Chinese cricket team which is worse than our street teams is almost completely ethnic Chinese and I respect that.

Haha you're right. Dont know where PCB gets clowns like Zaka Ashraf Ijaz Butt and Najam Sethi from. You couldnt buy more predictable idiots than those guys if you went shopping for them.

Like to see new faces next year.... Kaye’s and shafiul must kicked out like a football. Afif , shanto , saif can hold the rope ... also Riad can sleep while test will be playing..Bd need to restructure again and find some talent before World Cup , like Pakistan did it for champions trophy...

Change in schedule - BD-SL-Zim Tri-Series will take place in January, and then BD-SL Test series in February. Sylhet will host first three matches of the Tri-Series on January 15, 17, and 19.

Cox's Bazar stadium is the next place I want to see cricket.

Why are we letting a stadium with a capacity of 100000 go to waste?

Tell me when if that ever happens.

Purbachal cricket stadium in 2015 after Pak series was meant to be done by 2018. Not a single brick has been laid yet. Coxs bazar stadium will never be 100k, not the right location for huge ground, it needs a nice laid out looking towarsdthe beach type stadium, capacity of 20k good enough.

Stadium in Dhaka needs 70k, Sylhet needs another tier take it to 30-40, Zacs needs 30-40 too. Why don’t they upgrade zacs? One side it’s just got one tier, add another one!! Bcb where is the taka you claim to be 4th or 5th richest board. Here we can even build a 50k seater stadium, whereas in India even small two tier cities have huge stadiums, and they are building it for fun!

I saw this Virtual Model of Purbachal cricket complex. The construction has not been started.

The NSC could have renovated the stadiums in Khulna, Chittagong and Fatullah or could have completed the construction of the Cox's Bazar stadium. Had that been done, the various teams either club level or age level wouldn't have to wait for using the training facilities of Mirpur.
