Bangladeshi players you would like to see in County Cricket

Other than Shakib, It is about time more and more Bangladeshi players get involved with a county team for exposure to more first class games. I personally think Mahmudullah Riyad is ready for the next season. although some people may disagree. These are the players i would love to see on county Cricket...well eventually:


Sohag Gazi
Anamul Haque
Nasir Hossain
Mominul Haque
and a few others... evenTamim should not just play T20, but play first class with a team(1st division preferably but if not, it is ok....)

We always talk about more first class matches, playing county cricket should definitely help that, as we have seen with Shakib. It will definitely help the players improve at least on the individual level.


Riyad had a decent 2012 year with the bat, I think he deserves it. particularly, a struggling team in 2nd division could use his stubbornness in first class games.

Shakib al Hasan
Nasir Hossain
Mahmudullah Riyad

The problem is are the county teams willing to take any of them? the only county teams at this moment they will mostly take from Bangladesh are Tamim and Shakib. Shakib was offered a contract last season but refused because he had IPL commitments but can't blame him. If we invite the England Lions to Bangladesh so they can experience the Asian Asian conditions then they should allow us the right to experience their seaming conditions in England.

Hmm,this makes me think. Can't we develop these seaming pitches in Bd? It would benefit the batsmen and bowlers. Science has come such a long way.

well really any BD player would be better for playing county cricket. quality coaching, quality cricket and different conditions to play in. we have to remember though that counties only get a certain amount of overseas players and unless there is some sort of inside link or a standout like shakib it's not likely a BD player will get in.

but more on topic i think shakib, tamim, mushy, nasir, riyad, anamul, mominul, shuvagata, farhad hossain, marshall ayub, soumya sarkar, asif ahmed, shabbir rahman are the batsmen worth getting county shots.

for pacers it's rubel, nazmul, shafiul, abul, babu, sajidul, the two kamrul's, taskin, abu jayed, ala min, dolar who would be worth a shot.

for spinners it's sunny, sohag, enamul jr, sajib.

Someday, I have a dream, I want to see all county matches being played between Bangladeshi players only, if possible, if not, for now 6-7 BD players per team will suffice. i think nasir has a slight chance. so far in his short international career he's shown a good ability to perform, often under pressure. i think riyad is thought of quite highly to, everyone seems to think he should bat higher up the order so i could possibly see him being considered to but i think if anyone other than shakib or tamim are offered spots it will surely be nasir.
