Fact 1: Interestingly, despite attaining better win results Bangladesh could not move to quarter finals of WC 2011, but West Indies did. Bangladesh and West Indies have both beaten the Netherlands and Ireland; Bangladesh in addition beat a team (i.e. England) significanly higher than them in the ICC ranking; but West Indies beat a team slighly better or at par team (i.e. Bangladesh).

Fact 2: If West Indies loses their QF encounter their ICC ranking would be lower than Bangladesh.


Bottomline: By not going to QF, Bangladesh may not have fulfilled a certain expectation of many fans but have maintained their progress track without a doubt.
