Four cubs off to Australia

According to today's Janakantha, four youngsters- Sakib Al Hasan, Nazmus Sadat, Shirajullah Khadem Nipu, and Ishraq Sonet are going to Australia. Sakib and Nazmus already left the country last night to take part in a six weeks long training course at Commonwealth Cricket Academy. Nipu and Sonet will leave the country on the 16th of this month to play in the Darwin league for the next four months.

Send em all to differwent parts of the world. Good Job by BCB, Alot of Money has put into the devolpment of Sakib, Can't wait for hiss call up. It may happen this year when we host Zim in december, If it doesn't happen then he's gonna probably wait for 2 yrs.

I don't know what to make of Nazmus Sadat he plays like JO version 2 only a little faster in ODI's then vs SL A in the 4 day match he scores a run a ball 49.

I will be very happy to see someone bat for hours and have a strike rate of 20. That's the sort of player we need desperately to draw more of our test matches. If Nazmus Sadat is able to be the anchorman then we have plenty of so called 'strokemakers' to keep the score ticking. Anyways, I am glad to know that BCB is sending players overseas for training. That's the only way to improve quicker.

Darwin League isn't quite the pinnacle of club cricket around these parts.

I suppose it's worth it for the experience factor.

Great news!!! I would not worry too much about the quality of the league at this stage of their career. They are still kids and I am sure foreign exposure will be helpful for them. At the least they will get to play on good bouncy wickets. Plus playing at a different country will also improve their temperment. All the best for them.

We need a good allrounder who can bat in the middle of the innings keeping the head down and can take some wickets pretty often. Saqib might be 'the one' who knows.

That and it's footy season right now in Sydney and Melbourne.

Good news... last year Mehrab jr did really well in Darwin league and it helped him a lot I guess since he is on runs after that.... Hopefully it will do the same for these players...

This is indeed a very good move. We want to see more and more of our young talents get expouser in overseas strong leagues. Let's hope they perform and learn something to deliver BD.

Actually, in the off season, I dont care so much about strong leagues.

Part of it is just getting used to playing in different environments, seeing different places.

Me, I'd be trying to package a couple of players (ie Nafees, Shahadat and Enamul) to one of the West Indies islands ...

Young cricketers Ishraq Sonnet and Sirajullah Khadem are leaving Dhaka today as scholarship holders to participate in the Northern Territory Cricket (NTC) and Northern Territory Institute of Sports (NTIS) cricket programme.

The NTC confirmed the scholarships after negotiations between the BCB Game Development Department, Cricket Australia and the two institutions from the Northern Territory.

The two players will be staying in Darwin for a period of 18 weeks during which they will take part in matches and activities based on skill, fitness, training, nutrition and psychology. They will also receive video feedback and verbal reports during their stay.

Meanwhile, Nazmus Sadat and Sakib Al Hassan are already taking part in the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence (CBCE) cricket programme at Brisbane. They are scheduled to come back on June 4

I don't know if they're playing cricket in the West Indies right now. I know it rains quite a bit in those parts, especially now and all through the summer.

COMMONWEALTH BANK CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM

Players

1. Shake Nazmus Sadat
2. Sakib Al Hasan

Following negotiations between the BCCB Game Development Department, the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence (CBCE), and Cricket Australia (CA), the CBCE has confirmed two (2) scholarships in the CBCE cricket program for BCCB players in 2006 for a period of 4 weeks.

The selected players departed on 6^th May and will return on 4^th June ‘06. They will be attending the training program during this period in Brisbane at the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence.

• The main purpose of this skills based 4 week training program is to provide the players with exposure to different conditions and different coaching methods.
• The players will live at Griffith University and train daily at Alan Border Oval (the home of the Commonwealth Bank Centre Excellence.
• The players will receive specialist advise in all aspects of elite level cricket ranging from batting skills, bowling skills, fielding skills, psychology of cricket, fitness and nutrition and much more.
• Specialist coaches include Tim Nielsen (Head Coach), Jamie Siddons (Senior Coach) and Dene Hills (Senior Coach).
• The players will also receive video feedback and written and verbal reports and fitness testing while based in the CBCE program.
• The CBCE coaching staff will also run one (1) skill testing block in the time the boys are in Brisbane and they will be part of this process.

BCCB Game Development Chairman, Mr. Khondoker Jamil Uddin said, "This is a wonderful opportunity for the two boys selected to attend the world renowned Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence. Both players have been selected on merit based around excellent recent performances and have been recognized as potential National Team players of the future. The CBCE training program will assist them to develop their game further and will also provide the boys with a greater insight as to what it takes to reach and succeed in cricket at an International level."

Following negotiations between the BCCB Game Development Department, Cricket Australia, Northern Territory Cricket (NTC) and the Northern Territory Institute of Sport (NTIS), NT Cricket has confirmed two (2) scholarships in the NTC/NTIS cricket program BCCB players in 2006 for a period of 18 weeks.

The selected players will depart Dhaka on 17^th of May 2006 and return on 24^th September 2006.

• The program consists of playing competitive matches with a Premier Division team in Darwin as well as featuring comprehensive skills training, fitness & nutrition advice and sports psychology training under the guidance of the world renowned Head Coach and specialist Bio-mechanist, John Harmer.

• Players will also receive video feedback and written and verbal reports and fitness testing while based in the NTC program.

• The NTC coaching staff will also to run one (1) skill testing block during the time the boys are in Darwin.

BCCB Game Development Chairman, Mr. Khondoker Jamil Uddin said, "The BCCB Game Development Department is delighted to provide the opportunity to send two promising young players to Darwin for a season of cricket under Australian conditions. As well as the obvious benefits of playing competitive matches in a different environment the boys will also receive expert tuition in all aspect of the game from one of the world leading coaches in John Harmer.

Both Syed Rasel and Mehrab Hossain Jnr. were chosen by the BCCB selectors to participate in this program in 2005 and the initial success of the Darwin program can be measured by the noticeable all round improvement of these two players. It is hoped and indeed expected that this trend will continue into the future".
