Matters a lot. I have seen players getting called up and not getting a chance. I would still prefer Mo Rafique but that is not happening and I realise that.

one step closer to my dream XI:

Shakib, Razzak, Kapali, Shuvo, Naeem, Riad, Enamul, Ash, Rafique, Mosharof + a wicket keeper

I'm so happy Shuvos made the squad. I hope he plays against England. I really think he's got the potential to be the next big thing. Watch this space.

well well well
shuvo gets selected, FINALLY
but im gonna hold my horses just for now, and wait till sunday. i hope he plays, i really do
dont think his batting is good enough to be the 'next shakib', but if his bowling is as good then il be more than happy.

He is only 21, there's plenty of time for his batting to improve.

His recent domestic performance is nothing great. His numbers do not look consistant. not even in u-19 level. There are better performer in domestic league than him. The only reason i can think of why he got selected is he has got previous international experience. otherwise his recent performance is nothing extra ordinary to get selected in a national team. dont expect too much from him. he is average.

if you look at shakib's previous performance before he got selected in national team...he was very consistant and now he is performing consistanyly. we dont need once in a blue moon performer....we need consistant performers. currently we only have Tamim & Shakib.

Bowling average of 19 with economy rate under 3.5 looks good to me.

He can bat.

Suhrawadi Shuvo is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler, like his favourite bowler Daniel Vettori, who began playing cricket in 1999 and impressed for Rajshahi Division when he made his first-class debut in 2004-05. He was part of Bangladesh's Under-19 World Cup squad in 2006 and took nine wickets in six matches in Sri Lanka at an average of only 14.44. He will be looking to improve on that performance when he leads Bangladesh's U-19 World Cup campaign in 2008. Shuvo aims at breaking into the national side in the future.
