Ashraful Suspended by Bangladesh Cricket Board
Quote:
Mohammad Ashraful, the former Bangladesh captain, has been suspended by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), until the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit submits its report on investigations into suspected match-fixing and spot-fixing allegations in this year's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Nope, only Ashraful is doomed
I think we can do without sir Ash, but this event might leave BD cricket scarred for a while.

Just heard on ATN news a few minutes back that he apparently held a press conferene at his house where he appologised for his actions to fans...
I hope he gets a life ban. we've shown enough sympathy and love towards him!

Oh god, if this is true
He sucked life out of BD cricket for ages - he got chances like nobody else, and now this.
If this is true, which it appears to be, I hope he's banned for life. And I also hope this doesn't affect other players.

So sir Ashraful has confessed? Anyone here seen the movie "The Flight"?
Bye bye sir Ash. I always thought that his career would have seen a lot of highs. His career is now down the drain.

Whatever happens this is not a case of the BCB hiding anything - neutral ppl were brought into investigate - final report is being handed over to the ICC & BCB. Both will publish the details of the report together.
BCB is not running the show in this case.
ICC didn't spare Pakistan(a far, far bigger cricketing entity in every measurable way - so no chance of them going easy on us) -

All channels showing breaking news - Ashraful has admitted his guilt and asked for forgiveness.
But the bastard tried to be a hero 'i admitted and disclosed everything to ACSU for the benefit of cricket'
I say give him the 'forgiveness' the Freys and Lannisters showed the Starks

without Ash performance wise it won't affect our cric team much at all, but it's heart breaking, I'm not Ash's big fan but that was mainly for his poor performances, never thought he could get involved into such thing.
And it also looked like he was becoming a decent Test player for us.

Did he speak out to the media yet? The least he can do now is come out and apologize to the fans who backed him over the years despite playing like a moron.

I don't know why people are so surprised to hear that Ash could do such thing.. To me he always seemed like a bheja beral. My experience says never trust people with innocent look as their look could be sooo deceiving, I rather prefer people who would say whatever they are feeling right on your face. I always felt like Ash is the one who does the grouping and politics, gets jealous of other's success, goes to the media with all the inside news and gossips, pays the media to talk in his favor and all. But I preferred not to mention any of these in BC even when I was confronting an Ash fan as I didn't have any concrete evidence. But now I can safely say that he is a backstabber !!! Not that I am happy about it as his reputation is linked to BD cricket's reputation and I was sincerely praying all these days so that ACSU clears Ash off the allegation but....
But one thing I can say that Ash has indeed become the scapegoat. There are much more powerful people involved in the whole process. It can't simply be one person doing it. Further investigation is needed but then again you can't expect that to happen in BD. They all will try their best to save each other's back and the worst of all is BCB will cover it up for them as well. Now we as a fan will just have to accept the fact that BD cricket too is part of the dark world and we will have to move on. It won't be the same for us anymore and that's the sad part

So he admitted his guilt, good.
But I dont think ICC has tolerance towards these kind of cricketers. A 5 years ban from cricket is the least he deserves

I have forgiven Ashraful. Seems like genuine to me.
I cannot forgive his action because it has affected so many of us. I hope he gets the life ban.
Why did he get Mo Rafique, sujon and Pilot involved but not Sanwar? Wasn't the meeting held in Sanwar's office before the match with the players?

Well Ashraful was meant to go but didn't expect him to go like this. He could/should have been a role model (?) for the youngsters but instead he became a villain (/thief?).
Adios Sir Ashraful Matin. Thanks for everything you have done for Bangladesh Cricket.
