I hope BD think tank isn't taking SL lightly anymore, they whitewashed Pak and drawn test in India recently, they may be inconsistent and lacking experience, still packs a solid punch for Asian wickets.

Agree but I dont think tank turner is the solution. We need a pitch like colombo where we beat SL. Good wicket for first 3 days with some support for spin and fizz. Becomes difficult in last 2 days.

In that kind of pitch the team that plays better will win. Just like we won in colombo

What the second pacer would do? Bowl at most 5-6 overs up front(if he is lucky to get chance before spinners) with lots of short balls and getting hit everywhere... then from the rest of the day absent while fielding in the deep, comes with the old ball to try extra hard to reverse swing in the process miss line and length to concede more runs....

^^ Why? What's wrong with a tank turner?

A tank turner looks most likely to create rough on the pitch

Umm, so I hit up statsguru to look at the records of two batsmen from Bangladesh at Dhaka..

Here's what I found:

Imrul Kayes averages 17.60 after 15 innings
Sabbir averages 9.25 after 4 innings

Sabbir better not replace Mosaddek.

Our selectors have become a psychotic joke. Hathu withdrawal. Sanjamul's debut, Razzak's recall. Infatuation with hacks like Sabbir.

Imrul is a complete joke. The luckiest "professional" cricketer in the world. if he lived in any other country, he would be working an office job.

And that's at a home ground. Most batsmen usually thrive at their home grounds...

Chanderpaul always used to make a 100 at the legendary Bourda ground in Georgetown.

Only Tamim, Momin, and Shakib have good batting stats on Mirpur. If you look at our last five years stats on Mirpur against G8 teams, even Mushfiq (24) and Riyad (25) look poor. Kayes is comparable with them with average of 22.7 (he was even poorer back then, but don't see any point looking at those older stats).

There are reasons we're not a dominant Test team even at home yet.

^^Only 2 centuries and 13 fifties compared to 8 centuries and 19 fifties by the G8 teams (combined)

Whatever, this is our home of cricket.

We made history here beating England and Australia.

Bring it on

What kind of wicket will Gamini 'Fire Da Q-Rator' Silva prepare?

Tamim pointed out the issue to BCB during Aus series - in domestics we play on dead tracks (like how it was in ZACS last week). Suddenly in Test matches, our batsmen are tested on rank turners (even Mirpur wicket is not like that for domestics). We can't take home advantage properly unless BCB start to make turning tracks for domestics too and help batsmen develop their skills on such tracks.

On a different news, Sunil Joshi was not happy with the spinners.
