"Nasir might be featuring in the Bangladesh A team that will travel to Kolkata to play in a four-team tournament on the occasion of Eden Garden’s 150th year celebration.

With the 2015 World Cup in mind the selectors are willing to send the potential one-day players to India with the A team with Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe bin Mortaza leading the second string side.

In that regard opening batsman Anamul Haque, whose batting technique has often been questioned for the longer version, is also likely to be heading out of the Test squad. However, according to few sources Mashrafe might ask for rest and in that case Nasir, Anamul and Mithun Ali will be the frontrunners of captaining the A team. The teenage spearhead Taskin Ahmed and wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Kumar Das are also among the probables to tour with the A team."

Some of our A team players will get some exposure in this tournament with the cost of delayed DPL and domestic cricket.

And it won't be worth it.... These teams are pretty strong so we are not even close for the title and our players never learn anything on these picnic tours anyways

Why Nasir ? Throw him out of the squad already! Even Ashraful can play better than him ... while asleep!

Not enough batsman in the squad. I would have taken an allrounder (namely Mosaddek) in place of Nurul, since we already have three others (Anamul, LKD, Mithun) who can keep.

On Eden, against Indian teams, I would assume we are planning to go with at least three pacers (plus Soumya and possibly some seam bowling from Nasir).

My XI would be:

Anamul
Soumya
LKD
Mithun
Naeem
Sabbir
Nasir
Abul
Muktar
Arafat
Taskin

Duleep Trophy is still going on, leading Bengal players are busy playing for East Zone. I guess Mumbai and Karnataka will be depleted too.

I hope we lose. BCB keeps sending strong teams for bullshit leagues and tournaments when they can't even get basic **** right in our domestic leagues. They should have sent the academy side at the strongest, not the A team. If they want to prepare for the WC arrange matches in AUS/NZ. Or at least host ODIs against IRE or AFG.

Our last group match is on Oct 29. So, anyone from this team can be called off to Khulna for the 2nd Test against Zimbabwe, which starts on Nov 3. As per Faruque, Nasir will be in consideration for the 2nd Test, if he does well here (and assuming Shuvagata fails. Vaira will be in the team regardless).

This is not a strong team. We should send a team that can win the tournament. Their domestic C teams are better than our National team.

What is Naeem 0 off 100 balls doing in this team? He shouldn't be anywhere near a limited over game.

Good to see Anamul and Nasir getting dropped from the Test team.

Bloody hell! 4 keepers. When did we start producing so many keepers?

Eden Gardens is slotted to host the first ODI against Lanka on Nov 1 (at least that's what CAB requested), so this whole tournament has been moved to Jadavpur University ground in Salt Lake. Matches are now scheduled to start from 9:30 AM BST (I guess the University ground does not have good enough floodlight for day-night matches).

http://www.tigercricket.com.bd/achar...014-itinerary/

This ground generally holds inter-state age level matches, not even used for Ranji Trophy.

Combined with the fact that top state players won't be available for this tourny due to Duleep trophy, this certainly now does not look like a worthy cause to delay the start of our own domestic season.

Tough one, good thing it will give some away match experience, but then again it will delay our own domestic league. If then domestic is delayed, in a way its good, since national team players can play more games after the ZIM series.

Mumbai is sending a fairly strong team. A good number of their players play in IPL, so expect to see some hard hitting, especially on a not so large University ground.

Suryakumar Yadav (Captain)
Aditya Tare (W.K.)
Abhishek Nayar
Iqbal Abdullah
Akhil Herwadkar
Kshemal Waingankar
Sushant Marathe
Wilkin Mota
Shreyas Iyer
Shardul Thakur
Ankush Jaiswal
Bravish Shetty
Sarfaraz Khan
Saurabh Netravalkar
Sagar Gorivale

Looks like Imrul has been added to the squad on the last moment (front row, right most)
