How long till he scores a century? perhaps he could score a fifty.. fake a retired hurt.. take a nap and then score another fifty?

El Gordo's battery will probably run out of charge after scoring 30 if more than 10 of those runs come from singles ...

This is sad for Tamim, he seems very happy to play some charity game wheres his good mate shakib is playing a key role for KKR's success.

I think we don't need the heavy roller for the pitch anymore. Time to decommission that equipment and offer Tamim a new role

To be fair, doesn't look like too much of a paunch. His BMI might not be too high too. He has put on some weight but it looks to be more like muscle mass than fat.

almost half of this thread is about Tamim's weight.
chill guys, he is only wearing a super tight genji.
Good to hear about him going to Lords, the problem is his recent form which doesn't excite me much, but it will be a great experience anyway.

mone hoy egula muscle mass. eibar hobe char chokkha hoi hoi.
I will be happy if he improved his running between the wicket. Anamul is usually very fast but he had turn down many single and 2s coz Tamim wasn't willing. Rotating strikes is very important in ODI and T20 these days. But Tamim tries to do Gayle and relies only on boundaries. Once he gets bogged down, comes down the track and slashes at everything. It's kinda very easy to get him out these days. Prevent boundaries and he will commit suicide.

I was thinking Tamim's spot in the team may be in trouble with his form but the reality is we really don't have better options in the top order. Shamsur and Anamul are talented but they still need time to develop. Imrul is basically a stop gap.
He needs to start performing. He's too important of a player to just get out early. Hope this India series he can finally get some runs under his belt

We're pastmasters at getting out of touch players back into gear.
Don't worry about Iqbal, the Kumars and Shamis will ensure that he'll be back in no time.

I'd rather not risk putting Tamim. His days are long gone. I'd be happier putting Shamsur, Anamul, and Mominul in top order so they can get more exp playing at international level. These young guys need much grooming and the best way to do that is by letting them play more games against top order nations. Let's use Tamim to cook some biryani and chai after the game.

Shamsur and Anamul still have a long ways to go before proving themselves on the international level. Actually Anamul especially was clueless in Tests. Shamsur struggled in the A team match.
Tamim might be out of form now but he's still our best top order batsman to date and also the most experienced. He's still got an average of a 37 in Tests which is pretty good for our standards. Just because he's struggled so far this year doesn't mean he's finished. He can still be back.
Remember we're not Australia, India or England, we're Bangladesh. We can't just chuck talents out the window and replace them with unproven young batsmen.

Guy scored a memorable Lords 100. There are only two Bangladeshi's with their names on that Honors board. Whatever they may have done or not done since, it does not take away from the sheer joy and pride of those two accomplishments.

But seriously, he could have helped the team score more runs. But he is poor when it comes to RBW hence a lot of 2s and 3s were turned down. Unacceptable.

Played with unbelievable patience. Batting out 90 overs in Test is no easy thing. In fact, in WI tests he showed signs of slow batting and building an innings.
This is very different from the earlier Tamim. Yes he was more fluent in his stroke and played more freely then but now he has become a senior player and have to take more responsibilities. So that means curb out his natural instinct and play a more sedate role.
The problem is that he is still very uneasy in the beginning of the innings. He needs to survive the first 10 or so overs and once he does that he looks set for a longer innings.

Great showing and I hope he makes tons and continue for the team. Kudos to him for his patience but tomorrow morning will be a completely different day we all wish he stays more and continue. It will be a tough one especially Zimb pacers bowling beautifully. Good luck Tamim.

Lol at those folks who were so desperate to drop him. Yes, he is a fat man, yes he is Mr. Benson and yes he loves his biriyani, but at the end of the day he is Still Tamim. Take Tamim out of the team and you are left with guys like Bhimrul, Kopa or SN..
His work ethics is appalling, no doubt. He tries to avoid rigorous training sessions. That's why he stages injury drama every now and then. That's what DS has reported. If that report is true, then Haturi should be held liable too. He is in charge of discipline and must ensure that no player can take unjust advantages.
We simply can't afford to drop our core players as our replacements are atrocious. Shakib and Tamim are our main players. And no one is worthy enough to replace them or give them a run for their money. It's BCB's shortcomings as they have failed to produce quality players but that's a different topic
