Default India is the BEST Football team in South Asia

Ehsan, do u even follow football ????

Bangladesh, have lost to non-national Indian teams like Tata Academy and India B.

I cant understand how Bangladesh is the best football team in South Asia.

India r even known as the Brazilians of Asian Football.

There should be a real way to measure when someone claims who is best in what reigon.

For example, Brazil can claim they are the best Football team in the world coz they won the last World Cup even though they ranked behind France that time.

Who even won the Asia Cup can claim they are best in Asia. Who ever won the South Asia Football Fedation cup can claim they are the best in South Asia.

Ehsan claims Bangladesh is the best in South Asia because Bangladesh Beat Maldivs and won the SAFF. By the book, India is the 3rd best team in South Asia right now.

Amit, the visiting Bangladesh team is the Under-19 team. It is not the national team.

And what is ref. of your "Brazilians ofAsian Football" claim?? who told you this? where did you read this? in your own column, in your own website??

Was it even the Bangladesh national team or some club team we sent over there ? We know for a fact that national goal keeper Aminul is in BD, we also know that ten of our top national players have been around the brothers union club because of the transfers. So, who did we really send to India ? Was it the under 23 side ?

Amit, Saudi Arabia was known as the Brazil of Asia and they were also coached by a brazilian at some point. As for India, when I was very very young and had access to Indian magazines and books, I was under the impression that India was a top football nation (and hence Bangladesh was top as we were always fighting for the saaf glory), only after I grew up (about 12/13) and started to follow the then (and review earlier) world cup and asian cup matches did I realize that both India and bangladesh were FAR behind in international soccer. Back then, Dhaka clubs used to beat Nepal/Maldives clubs by 8-0 or 6-0. Those days are long gone.

Ok, that clears it ..... So, I was right, no wonder the papers aren't even covering this matches as this wasn't even the under 23 side.

Which means - our boys did awesome by drawing Uzbekistan. Also, since the other teams are club teams from India, I am going to assume that the uzbek side is a club side or junior side as well. I have noticed in the past that the indian papers usually do not give out the details when the foreign teams send out junior or club teams. This gives the 'occasional' browser the wrong idea about the actual strenght of the team. Look at Amit for example, he thought Tata was beating the Bangladesh national side when it was only our under 19 kids.

I think he is going by the Fifa Ranking.

Ranking means nothing. France was ranked one in WC, but got out in first round. Anna Kournikova ranked in the top 10 many times, but never won a tournament.

Ranking means theorytically, not practically. Who won for real is what proves the champion.

Bangladesh is the current champion of SAFF, while Maldivs are the runner-up.

Amit, in South Asia, India is the 3rd currently.

Good thing we're only good at a couple of sports, otherwise these boards would be a mess!

Amit take your EDITED away. You asking me whether I follow football, I live in a football. I'm pretty sure you don't know more than me about football. India EDITED at football. We are the best !!! I'm a by born football player, you don't have to question me, I can train you on how to play football. When I play I use the same stratagie Carlos does for Brazil, that is I play at defense and also go into attack which requires a huge stamina. Playing at defense and shifting to attack is preety hard.

India could be one of the best at cricket but football is not their cup of tea.

All the time you bloody patritism has to come, you have never been realistic in your life. Post when you get real. This Bangla Football forum, no India here please. Don't start your bloody discussions about India here please.

We know what we are in football, you don't have to explain us. We may be not that good if you pick the whole Asian continent but in South Asia we are the best. Mohammead alone is enough for India, if Mohammedan plays upto its potential.

Mohammedan can beat India ???

thats impossible, Ehsan. U R really crazy.

Even East Bangal, can beat Bangladesh.

Baichung Bhutia, Indias football star alone is enough to beat Bangladesh.

Bangladesh football is nothing without India.

Had there been no India, there would have been no Bangladesh.

also guys dont forget, that ur country was a part of India once.

Absolutely bogus... Bangladesh football has no relation whatsoever with the anything Indian. Bangladesh football never depended on anything from India.

I would argue that it is the land of Bangladesh who has contributed to Indian Football. Yes, you heard it right. WE gave you East Bengal. If you know about the history of East Bengal, you'll know that it was formed by and for the people of Bangladesh (the then Eastern Bengal). During fifties, Sixties and Seventies - it was Bengalis who made up the majority of the Indian Football team. Many of those players were born in East Bengal (what is called Bangladesh in present days).

Don't brag too much about East Bengal as a symbol of Indian Football. It was and still is funded by people who are originally from Bangladesh. After the recent win in Malaysia, the Desh magazine of Kolkata did a cover story about East Bengal. It was written in pure Dhakaiya Language. For the first time Desh' history, a cover story was done in Dhakaiya Language. I hope you can understand the significance of that.

Amit, what is this????? are you trying to provoke some attention? or are you saying these because you lost your sanity??

Our country was a part of British Empire, India or Pakistan once - do you think we care at all about that. We are better off these days because we got our independence. So being a part of one country once upon a time doesn't mean any hoot to anyone. We take pride and pain that it was our country’s wealth which was looted and has contributed to the economies and progress of these aforementioned countries. Can you see how dumb your point is?

Amit, dont try to teach us about football. Football has always been our first love and India's has been cricket.

We are much more better off country without out. If wer were part of India, the hindus probably try to burn us like they are doing to all our brothers in India.

Anyways not only are we the current SAFF Champions (beating ur boys on route), but we are also the present SAF Games Football champions.

We are the champions of all available South Asian titles!!!

A young Carlos Alberto fan? I think Rivelino and Carlos Alberto were the most underappreciated Brazilians. All the glory went to Pele, Zico, Socrates, Falcao and Eder.
