Fun fact, Markram's name is a palindrome, spell it backwards, it's the same name.

isnt this a batting wicket? why are we bowling first?, typical mushfik mentality..giving SA ample opportunity to score big and try to salvage a draw

I am not sure if its such a bad decision either as it says its over cast and our batsman would not have lasted long.

The bad decision was taking Shafiul and then playing Mehedy so early in such conditions

big mistake deciding to bowl first on this batting paradise. typical escapist strategy set by mushfiq. Shafiul seems to be a medium pacer with no swing at all. Bowls 129-130 straight balls. Don't understand how he could be better than Subhasish who seems to be the second best option after Fizz.

A lot of those 4-5 rpo is due to slips dropping catches that then go on 4. If a catch is taken its 0 runs, if the ball is dropped and then goes on to cross the ropes, 4 runs are given instead of 0.

Roy is not economical. 3.6 rpo isn't economical. Roy is better than Rubel and maybe Shafiul from the bowlers we have. He's not any better than Rabbi or Robiul.

What we need is Ibadat to step up and get selected as the 3rd seamer.

Who said it was Mushfiq's decision to bowl first?

You do know we have a dictatorial coach who habitually makes idiotic decisions. This looks like a typical Hathu decision.

Taskin and Shafiul are just poor bowlers. They cant even bowl line and length. And Shafiul doesnt seem like a heavy duty bowler is expected to bowl many overs either. This is sheer stupidity taking him especially when we have better bowlers out there

Mehedy is a bowler who relies too much on the pitch to help him. He reminds me of Venkatapathy Raju. I can understand Mushfiq bringing him in as Shafiul is utter garbage.

For people criticising the decision to bowl, you guys would have been criticising the decision to bat as we would have lost 3 wickets by now under overcast conditions

CI: Former Bangladesh player Athar Ali Khan says on TV comms he himself is surprised by Mushfiqur's bowl-first decision.

Oh my word, he is always surprised by everything. I hope Shamim is not in the comm box to humiliate our nation

PROBLEM IS NOT shafiul, its the selectors.

shafiul did well in T20 and ODI and they select him for test

they always choose players for wrong format.

in past, mehrab jr, golla, all selected for T20, instead of test

I wish instead of Shakib, Shafiul should have taken a sabbatical from playing Tests. He clearly is tired of playing so much cricket, that his small body cant take it
