New Category: Bangladesh Politics, Society and Economy

Currently there are 21 threads related to Bangladesh Politics, Economy and Society in the "Forget Cricket" category. Although this is a cricket fan website, the number of responses and constructive debates on different issues gives an indication of the interest and involvement of BC members regarding these issues.

Hence, I feel that having a "Bangladesh Politics, Society & Economy" category would be a positive step for BC. What do you think?

I think things should be the way they are. It is, after all, a cricket website, and that's how I personally would like to see it, above all.

If we are to have separate forums for everything, the website should be renamed to bangladesh.com.

The only reason we had that many threads because of the political unrest for the past 6/9 months. Within the next year or two right before the election there will be some more threads on politics but after that it will die down. Specially when most of the pukur churi wala's live permanently in the jails of BD.

this thread reminds me of something.....well i'm a student..just 18..i live in U.S...n i work at a restaurant...n thru that i get to meet different types of pplz...oneday couple brazilian student came up to me n like..where r u frm..i was like bangladesh..n the first thing the girl said..was...yea the most corrupted country in the da world..i got soo mad i was abt to smack the S*** out of her...but yea u get wat i'm saying....i dn't knw if u knw this comedian or not..but he's really old.his name is don rickles..he came to my restaurant n shook my hand..n asked where i was frm i was like..bangladesh..n he goes..thank god you are here...i got soo mad...he was laughing..i just gave him this look..he said sorry to me later on..but no matter wat he says..ain't no way he can take back wat he said...is that all pplz knws abt our country..just the corruption that goes around..i wish pplz wud luk beyond wat they see...

Agree with Tigers_Eye and ATMR. No need to open too many forums and sub forums every now and then. This is primarily a fan based website for Bangladesh Cricket and thats how things should be.

Actually the way I see it, such threads will continue to grow with upcoming issues like Ctg. Port, Transshipment, Electricity Purchase / Production, Higher level leaders incriminated and punished etc. I have a feeling that with the ongoing major change in political scenario and the economic and social changes expected as a result of these changes will keep bringing up new issues regularly for the next few years.

Hence, having a separate topic would enable those interested in politics, society and economy to find everything together while leaving "Forget Cricket" forum for entertaining stuff like "Which is the best restaurant in Dhaka", "Jokes", "Movies & Music" etc.

i think its better the way we are now. this is sort of hardcore bangladeshi cricket fan club... anything other than cricket falls into forget cricket category...including politics and jokes..... i dont see any difference though as most of the jokers are playing in the political fields.. while players atlesat showing some effort in the field to uphold states honor.

There's enough political discussion as it is. If you open a seperate catagory all we'll do is discuss politics. We are Bangladeshis after all.

I would also like to propose creation of a new sub-forum "Chitrali (চিত্রালী )" where we can discuss "Dhakaiya (ঢাকাইয়া )" movie and keep track of the recent weight gain of our sizzling hot, beauty queen heroines.

how come no one yet has come up with this award winning idea??

Due to the socio-economic development of our country and the effect it would have on the world stage spreading the "Bengali" culture worldwide in the near future, we should all talk about this much waited topic and gain some invaluable knowledge into the insight of our post modern day neo-Bangalee culture.

As for reality TV goes, we can also put all these beauty super-queens in one house to make our own "The biggest loosers"....

And who knows...with this much knowleagable discussion, we can someday come up with a movie of our own too..you know..if we put our minds into it...

i propose the name for our first suspense thriller..
