Watched the Founder with M Keaton. It's about the origins and development of McDonald's. A bit slow and more like a documentary
6.5/10

Hidden Figures is another true story based on black women staff problems in NASA in the early days when US had apartheid. It's similar to movie the Help but not as good.
7/10

Among older movies I watched Lost in translation recently which I found slow and boring. 4/10

The most recent I'd watched is 'Arrival'. It has a very interesting concept but lacks in cinematic climax and hence little boring.

IMDB rates it 8/10 and RT ranks it #18 in their top 100 Sci-Fi movie list.

I would give 6.5/10.

Ouija 2 origin of evil 6/10
Much better than the original but still quite bland. Insidious and Conjuring still remains my favorite in recent years

Guardians of the galaxy 2- very disappointing. Few good jokes here and there but the story sucked big time.

Finally got to watch Bahubali 2, truly justifies all the hypes around it, Prabhas and Rana were amazing and so are the special effects, felt a bit stretched during the end but I can forgive that, Bollywood should learn a thing or two from this, worldwide gross $230 Million and counting for a non Hollywood movie speaks volume. Good to see Indian movies stepping into a new era leaving the Bollywood crap behind. 8/10.

I plan on watching this sometime next week when my college semester will come to an end. Hope the theater doesn't take it down by then...

I saw the original, and it was mindblowing. Good story.

Only criticism is the special effects...for a guy who has seen countless Game of Thrones battles, this was not up there with HBO.

Effects this time almost on per with the Hollywood, considering the budget was around $40 Million, I salute their efforts, although not fair to compare with Hollywood TBH where the budget goes beyond $150 Million pretty often. You should give it a try, definitely worth a watch.

I am a GOT fan too, though never expect HBOesque treatment in an Indian movie, Indian cinema is unique and different in its own way, specifically caters for Indian/subcontinent audiences, I see nothing wrong in trying to connect with the masses, we like our over the top actions, melodrama and musicals, people with different tastes can always switch to Hollywood while Puritans, intellectuals and wannabes can find solace in Kubrick, Polansky and Von Trier.

I have always preferred the Telegu movies more than the mainstream Bollywood ones...so i have interest in over-the-top action, etc

I'm open to anything brother.

I just hope that the theater doesn't pull the movie down by next week.

Bollywood was great too till the 80s, it ruined itself afterwards trying to ape the west, now it is all about item songs, nepotism and minting money with very little substance.

BTW have you seen Gangs of Wasseypur? Will blow your mind

I think Bollywood in the 90s was also good. Some classics were made.

It's too bad that they have to go with lame as hell stories and remakes.
The originality is latent.

Lagaan, that was original.

The girls coming into the Bollywood now are from other countries.

They're no Hema Malini, or Mandakini, or Madhuri, or vyjayanthimala...

No, I haven't seen Gangs of Wasseypur.

You are spot on, Bollywood this days is reduced to a cesspool full of wannabe whites and talentless gym candies.

Anyways, good movies albeit rare but do come out of Bollywood. You gotta watch Gangs of Wasseypur man, Anurag Kashyap literally pulled off a Tarentino, and I aint exaggerating one bit. One of the best movies I have ever scene, surely up there with the likes of Goodfellas and Pulp Fiction.

PS: Mandakini

I think I may have seen this movie some time ago, can't recall. I'll definitely have to rewatch.
@ Mandakini

Will have to go watch this then Brockley ..hyping up...

I don't usually watch movies with aliens in them...but this will have to be an exception.
The only alien I know is Roger from American Dad!
