does he drop the anchor and bat through the innings (or try to)
Or does he go all guns blazing and try to get us a fast start
thats what people are on about when they talk about roles

HAHAHAHAH Ash drop anchor? Are you kidding me? In ODIs when is the last time you saw Ash trying to bat through the innings. Ash is always trying to get us to a quick start. He pretty much has the same role as Tamim.

Am just telling what people mean, when they talk about roles, Ash recently tried changing his mentality in test cricket, in which he was also aggressive.

I know you're telling me what people mean. I just found it amusing.
If Ash can't find a middle ground with his batting in ODIs then let him play tests and T20s only. ODIs he should be aggressive.

for shorter formats 2nd opener and #3 spot will go between jahurul, shamsur and anamul. in tests it will be jahurl and anamul (hopefully since anamul prefers #3 they'll put him there).

Without sir Ash, our batting order looks slightly more promising. No more free wickets for 5 runs

regardless of ash not being there we're still missing a good #2 and #3. anamul has potential but didn't look good in the tests, we need a couple of players to step up and establish themselves in those positions.

Shamsur should get a good look in as a possible ODI opener. He looks like an organised cricketer. But he is to go past Imrul first.

reckon anamul is pencilled in as opener in ODIs, unless they decided to drop anamul down to #3. either way i reckon they should give shamsur a few more matches, whether he bat at 2 or 3.
