Nope it's just you. Nasir looks nothing like Popeye Jones. Is it because of the ears? Because that was the only thing that resembled him. Otherwise they look waaay different.

He is more like our Virat Kohli. Has shown lot of early promises.

Very cool and confident while batting. Very good RBW. Very good fielder. Good guy to have in the team. That's all I can make out from what I've seen of him thus far.

Hope to watch him bat for longer periods and bowl in the ODIs and get a better insight into his abilities.

I'm confident he won't turn in to Aftab. Aftab was just lazy, unmotivated, with very low cricketing intelligence. His cricket brain is worse then all the other current batsmen we have despite his talent. Nasir seems to be a far more intelligent player.

^ They always chechamechi with every player that comes across their eyes. Starting from Op, to Ash, to Rajin-Aftab-Alok-Nafees, to MehrabJr-Reza-Raqibul-

On topic: this is way to early for his own official thread. Look what some of the other players had to do to get here.

(Then again, wasn't Official thread meant as a joke to Ash? Who trued it into a serious thing?)

Must-Candidates: Shakib-Tamim-Rahim-Ash-Mash
May-be- Candidates: Imrul-Riyad-Siddique-Nafees-Nazmul-Shahadat-Razzak-(He isn't kool enough to be a Must)
Future-Candidates: Naeem-Raqibul--Shafiul-Rubel-Nasir-Kapali

Ex-Candidates: Rafique-Bashar-Bulbul-Pilot-JO (he retired yet?) -Shanto

Big Z gone, Hom on the way...I lost count how many more on that list...just few of them we still remember Rafique, Pilot like ..unfortunately they are not playing anymore...atleast we can say something unique about that that made difference...let's see how this guy does or he will be another superstar fading in few years

That looks like a BCB contract grade list.

Not sold on his batting...admittedly didn't watch his debut 63. But he is lightening between the stumps and a great fielder to boot. Probably the most athletic fella we got right now. I like him for that.

I started liking him ever since i saw him playing in Under 21team in SAAF Games in 2009/10. He took a brilliant running catch on long on region in the final match against SL ! To me,

Pros

- Brilliant Ground fielder
- Quick running between wickets
- Good hooker/puller
- Positive attitude
- Energetic
- Good team member
- Handy off spin bowling

Cons

- Sometimes he gets too excited
- Plays rash shots now and then
- Some technical flaws in batting

All these cons are due to inexperience and young blood. These cons can be rectified with times and experience.

Wish him all the best.

Another good knock (50) today.

Who say we don't have alternative players?

Hopefully Nasir will open some eyes to the fact that unless you are willing to take some risk and open and look for alternatives, there will not be any alternatives. Alternative doesn't grow in trees, you need to take risk and look for that.
