in 2010, he averaged 42 with the bat (7 matches)
in 2011, he averaged 12 with the bat (3 matches)
in 2012, he averaged 42 with the bat (2 matches)
last 3 years, he technically averaged 32 which is not good nor bad.
He performed poorly this series but personally, 3 innings is not conclusive for me to drop someone like Riyad. He should be warned and he should realize himself the competition for a slot in the team but other than a wake up call, nothing more is needed at the moment.
we will count 2013 when its actually over. 4 more tests to come.

thats 3 years for me. There were no matches played after June 6th of 2010. So either count 2011-2012 or count from the start of 2010 to the end of 2012. You cant pick a random date to prove a point....

OK still avg 19 in last 2 yrs from 13 innings doesn't justify his spot, does it?

in 2011 we played 3 test matches, and in 2012, we played 2 test matches. How does that add upto 13 innings?

Again u cant simply calculate from a start of a year to a quarter of another. There are 4 more tests to go if you want to use his 2013 records because is not over.
If you think that 1 test series was enough for him to be dropped thats your opinion and there is nothing wrong with that. But when you are stating a stat, it has to be fair and complete.

We are a bit disappointed with the performance of Riyad. But he is a talented batsman. I hope he will come back strongly. All he need is to change his mind set up,need to take responsibility.

Mullah at the moment is must for ODI, he had a wonderful WI odi series..he is a handy odi bowler
he is a big no no for T20..his innings vs WI was pointless
in test the verdict is still out for him..should be given one more chance vs zim..i still believe even if he fails in zim he should be included for the series vs NZ at home..if he fails there too drop him from test team

Abul was rated higher than Rubel, Anamul, Riyad, Sunny and Shahadat and in paer with Robiul.
looks like he is safe for now. If you get praise from Sangakkara and you are still in your teens, you cannot be dummy. High hopes for him moving forward.

i don't see anything wrong with stating stats that are for example the last 12 months, last 2 years, last 3 years etc. if you start stating stats from say the last 1.5 years, 2.5 years, 3.75 years etc then it's a bit much (unless it's an entire career, or a comeback). anyway riyad's stats batting in the middle order (4-7) across his entire test career is an average of 16.91. so he pretty much has nothing backing him to get a place in the middle order, nasir has the #7 spot locked so riyad's spot comes down to whether you want 8 batsmen in the team or not.

He better perform in the ODI to make the selectors forget about his test form, otherwise with Nayeem and Shakib returning Riyad will most likely get dropped for the Zim test series.

I just wanna say one things to everyoene and all this critics about riyad , bcz i guess bd people doesnt know how to appreciate someone even tho that person just won the whole series aginst a tough team,
Here is what i wanna say if riyad get droped from bangladeshteam than bd will become what they were in 2005 or 2006 team , batting will collapse again and again, probbaly bd might get 1 or 2 win in odi against tough team in every 5 years , just lyk how they used to be trust me

So what? That doesn't warrant him a space in the team. We dropped SN when he was the VC during 2007 WC.

I'm talking about Test. I said he might dropped from the Test squad. Naem scored 100 in his come back Test, what did Riyad do? I said he should perform in ODI to make up for his Test form. That will make the selector's think if he is amongst run in ODI he can get back to form in Test cricket. Except those 2 decent innings against WI he hasn't done much in Test cricket in a long while. Before the WI series in 2012, he last scored a 50 in Test was back in 2010. And since that 50 against WI he hasn't managed a double digit innings yet, that is unacceptable.
You want to talk about Riyad's performance go ahead talk about it all you want but respect other's opinion. Don't be a clown and start your post with bunch of these hahaahahahahahahahhahahahahahahah

riyad has the talent but he's lacking in performance, mainly as a middle order batsman. i'll give him credit for doing well in the #8 spot in tests, and being a handy part time bowler but he's done nothing more than be what i just said. if he wants to survive in the test team it's imperative that he performs in the middle order, so far he hasn't.
in ODIs if he's to continue to bat down at #7/#8 then he's going to have to improve his strike rate and ability to attack from ball one, otherwise, like in the test match format, he will need to perform in the middle order to survive.

Excuse me riyad had highest score in 2nd inningg against WI where u naeem nasir was flof couldnt save the match , plus he have 2 half century on that series with i think near 5 wickets in 2 test , looks like u dont even know when bangladesh play cricket or not , he have last half century in 2010 bcz bangladesh didnt play any test between between that time rather than 1 against zimbabwe , and one series against WI he missed out due to injury , know the fact bro

Riyad is going through a lean patch, let's give him space to get his form back.
