I'm disappointed it's taken years for us to rack our brain cells together and realise that our best chance of taking 20 wickets and winning a Test is by creating a dustbowl and spinning rings around the opposition. With our newfound 3 man spin attack we should be able to win a Test against the big boys in the forseeable future. Non subcontinental teams will struggle in these conditions.

didnt NZ had vittori back than?..imho current Eng spin attack is not that great..if they had grame swan we might have scored way less than what we did
i am not saying going with spin is not the case just indicating that if the opposition team had a very good spinner the current tests mught have looked different..still not sure if our batsman can handle quality spin in dustbowls

After this series i think we know what the pitch needs to be to be competitive. For the first time we look like we can take 20 wkts as an attack and that too with 3 bowlers only

I agree. These spin wickets are the way to go. At the same time, it will also improve our batsman in combating spin. When teams such as Australia, West Indies and New Zealand tour Bangladesh for a test series, prepare rank turners because their spin attack is not quite as good as England's. West Indies might be slightly better, but their batsman are awful against spin. I'm not surprised why Australia doesn't tour Bangladesh: we all the know the "exact" reasons why they do not bother.

Best teams play to their strengths.
Bangladesh has decent spinners, and a pacer who can bowl cutters making him lethal on such pitches.
I think we have seen the last of the flat nonsense. Not only because it gives us the advantage but because it tests the players. Bowlers batsman fielders all have to concentrate immensely. Also matches draw crowds. nobody wants to watch a match where there is going to be no result so no intensity

No Vettori wasn't playing in that series. Yeah it won't be so easy against top quality spinners such as Ashwin and Herath etc, but we should play to our strengths.

These pitches are the way to go, our batsman just need to pull their pants up and learn to play on it. The only teams who will give us a beating in these conditions are India and Pakistan

I would love to watch Mustafizur in these conditions. His offcutters would grip on these surfaces.

We might not be fantastic in terms of playing spin but teams such as Australia are atrocious against spin. Australia lost to a really underpar SL team in SL whereas when we toured SL, SL had the likes of Sangakarra still playing and we still competed hard against them.
compare this scorecard with this scorecard. We had Anamul, Jahurul opening for us LOL and also Abul Hasan and Shahadat as our pace attack. And no Shakib either so our bowling attack was pretty bad.

moral of the story. Tailor our pitches to spin, back ourselves and we will very much be ahead of the other team before a bowl is even bowled.
