Default Bangladesh's Match Against India is our 150th ODI : Can We Repeat the History?

From BanglaCricket News

Quote:
Bangladesh's first match in the World Cup will be their 150th one-day international. Tigers are keen to celebrate the land mark with the same result they obtained in their 100th one-day international against the same opposition in December 2004.

I have got a feeling that we will repeat the history.

Inshallah. We will repeat the history.

Given that we've been playing ODI since 1999, is it too little ODIs in 8 years?

roughly around 19 odi's a year isn't too bad. the optimal number is 30 (according to many international players), so around 20 isn't too bad for a starter.

however, the fact that we've been playing odi's not from 99 but from the 80's changes things.

but we have played more odi's in recent times .. 2004 e 100th.. 2007 (end of 2006 for approximation) .. about 25 matches per year... not bad!

Can we do it? yes we can. Can the players keep their head? we'll have to wait.

The matches in 80s weren't ODI status, were they? I don't think so?

I would refrain from any talk of a win against India. It seems to me that more we talk about it, raise our expectations we put more pressure on our team.

But you know what, in recent years, we win against the big fish once a year. We have already won against NZ (though it was not an ODI). So, our quota is filled up!! I I am sorry that I dont see we will win in this world cup either against SL/IND!

Recent wins against the big guns:
2004: Ind
2005: Aus
2006: SL
2007: NZ, and ? (may be against IND in home series)

Kabir bhai is confused since we didnt play those Asia Cup / Australasia Cup matches as an ODI-status-holding nation. He is counting the matches that we played after getting the ODI status as ODIs. But as ATMR mentioned, the limited-over international matches that we played before getting the ODI status, were always considered official ODIs.

There is no point comparing the win agnst Ind in Dhaka, this is a different venue, and a different tournament.

We repeated the history and in style.

What a professional performance from Bangladesh!!

Not a single moment while chasing the target, there was any doubt about which team is winning.

we've done it! our boys have repeated history! except only that this time it wasn't an upset - it really didn't look or feel like one.
