Default Are England No.1? BORING QUESTION

Can this question please stop being asked. Very boring.

Everyone knows what the answer is so why keep asking it? We don't need the same opinion from every cricketer, journalist and his dog

England need to win every series and then the next Ashes if they are to be regarded number one in the world. Unless Australia go on some major decline, which, really, isn't gonna happen.

And everyone sane knows that is the case. End of the story. Next question....

yes but this question is inenvitiable, and was always gonna happen, happens in every thing an english player, or english team do well or has the potential to do well, e.g andy murray..the football team before the recent decline under eriksson, jensen button, etc...

I wonder why do they make u laugh?? I think they have acheived more in soccer than they ever did in Cricket. Anyways as for your thread's title,,i agree with it 100%,,its rather silly even to think this current English team as the No.1 test cricket team. Infact i even doubt whether they r yet the 2nd best test cricket team or not? Its still very unclear and too early to call them anything of that sort.

I don't like football, lack of sportsmanship and too much cheating.

They are way overhyped, and the manager is rubbish, so every England defeat at football brings a smile to my face. Mainly because I want the manage to get sacked and every defeat is one more step towards that! And I don't like David Beckham either.

If only there were a tourney of five day cricket. Winning a home series against Aus is good but does not make them #1. They have to do it in Aus to over take them. Its like holding serve in tennis. Unless any team beat Aus in Aus, the Aussies are still the #1.

have to disagree, i guess u havent seen paoulo dicanio, when u talk about sportmanship, football is a world wide, global sport, cricket isnt, even in england.
anyway thats another debate.

English fans should learn from us. We,bd fans, thought so much of our team after we beat aussies and srilanka gave us a big time dose of reality. I think England will receive similar treatment from pakis in coming days. so be aware.

england is not number 1, far from it. their batsmen is vulnerable against spinners, specially googly bowlers. they dont have a quality spinner.

the reason why australia was so successful for last decade was because of warne and mcgill, apart from their pace attack. i cant see england being number one, not in next 5 years.

Rob,

My hearty congratulations to you and your English team. They played some awesome cricket.

If one positive comes out of the whole series, for me and my fellow Aussies, is that cricket has suddenly become interesting again. I think that the days of bland, one-sided contests where Australia wins every time, are gone. Cricket is exciting again!
